Hello, mappers, Fabbers and Everyone else. I have a web site called thepryde.com, I want to take it to the next level, I want to have a sight where Prefabs, maps and modeling can be done.

Not to compete with this site or any other, but to give another option out there.. I also want a place where the members can all work on a single project and put out a greater product.

Some of the best mappers, model makers, fabbers, and modders past though these doors here at Snark Pit as well as PFL, and I hope some day ThePryde.com.

Why thePryde.com.. well a Pryde is a group of lions that work/live together.. so I guess a Pryde of mappers modders, fabbers and what not that all work together for a commen goal and a commen intrest.

I hope some of you out there can help me take my site to the next level.. I guess I should say our site to the next level.. I need to set up a members thing like here and PFL has, any help on that?

Well let me leave you with that info, and you all can ask me questions and what not.. thanks for your time.

Gawd you not gunna get a good result for a site for a helluva long time. Firstly PHP like this site takes so long, I watched lep coding it, and he explains but I don't get any of it, apart from it uses functions and stuff with if's or else's...

The reason Lep was able to code this site was because he got a good tutor to help him

*pets the person, he knows who he is  *

Orph I believe the version he was talking about was merely an older version, the newer ones changed some stuff to make it quicker to do, but the thought is harder.

www.php.net

Good luck learning

My tutor was phpbb 1.4 and the PHP website actually (and that's where I'd send people who want to learn PHP), kudos to Scary Jeff for showing me the light though   Although with hindsight his PHP was awful

If you're lazy and you want to get website systems similar to Snarkpit / Prefabland, then go over to Sourceforge and search for "nuke". There's many different types of "nukes", all of them fairly horrible but useful if you don't want to go through much trouble. I've found E-Xoops to be the easiest to use out of all of them, but phpNuke is generally the most used. Anyway, you won't be able to get anything like you want even with a Nuke codebase without learning some PHP and MySQL, so you better learn some.

There isnt really anything amasing about the php code on this site. Not to impune your work lep, its excelent, but you could create a site like this by working through only one php / sql tutorial.

Apart from the java(script) on the forum post forms - that is absolutly brilliant coding.

Anyway, what do you want a script for ?

You're saying the Javascript coding is better/more in-depth than the PHP? Sir, you are highly mistaken- what about all the code parsing, the "who's online" tracker, the maps page, the editing search thingummy, etc...
