Hows it going ladies and gents?

I thought I might make a post about this to see if anyone who's a member here would like to meet up maybe?

The date:
From June 9th to July 6th

The Info:
As a student of architecture, my university is making their penti-annual study abroad trip to somewhere. Well this time it happens to be Berlin! -One of my top places I'd like to visit before I die. So having this opportunity, I hopped on-board and am now scheduling the trip.

It'll be a six week venture where I'll be taking classes there. The program is a collaboration of the architecture department and history department at my university. So I'll be getting a mixed lessons about the history and architecture of the city.

Now of course we'll be visiting other places too such as:
  • Potsdam
  • Dessau, Leipzig
  • Nurnberg
  • Munich
  • Stuttgart
  • Wolfsburg
  • Dresden
Now on top of those places, us students will be getting plenty of "free days" to travel elsewhere. Some of the places I plan on visiting are:
  • Amsterdam
  • Hamburg
  • And other places not yet known
I won't be going alone to these places, so my group has to be in agreement first.

Do you guys have any recommendations? My "class" will be staying in a place near the Brandenburg Gate.

If you've got any shout-outs post 'em here! :hee:

Well, I'm leaving today for a 9 hour flight from Dallas TX, to London, and then like another hour or two to Berlin!

Also, as part of the trip, we're required to keep a blog, if you'd like to follow mine, you can find it here: http://berlinsprechen.blogspot.com/ ("Berlin Talk")

And if you'd like to follow all of our group's blogs, you can find that from the professor's blog here: http://techberlin.blogspot.com/

Too excited to keep typing, I'll see you guys across the pond! :cowjump: :hee:

I've only ever been to Frankfurt Airport, but I gotta say even that tiny little part of Germany that I saw was absolutely fantastic. The country's just amazing. It's advanced technologically, people have a strong worth ethic, they're so disciplined, and as I've heard many times from my father, they're one of the cleanest people in the world. I will definitely visit Germany some day soon. Have the best time there mate, and keep us updated! :)

Wasn't long after Ollie started his traveling school thingy that he started slacking off with site updates... Hope you stick around after this jaunt.

Either way, have a good trip and seeyas when you get back home. Give me a call or text when you get home safe.

As a matter of fact, Mike left too after he started his school jaunting..

Break the trend.

The best things in life, aren't things.

I will assure you this trip will not break my attention for the SnarkPit! But I can say while I'm on the trip it certainly is keeping me off the internet more often than not, but rest assured when I return, my commitment won't change.

Right now we're on our 6 day cross-country tour of Southern Germany, staying at random hotels for single or double nights at a time. This is day 3, and we just got through visiting the Nazi concentration camp Dachau in Munich, which was one of the first concentration camps built and the rest were modeled on it. It was also the one where they performed experiments on the prisoners. Most of it is still remaining, with several churches built at one end. We had the opportunity to walk through the gas chambers; and I must admit was very creepy. We got a good 3 hour tour through the whole camp. Look to my blog soon for pictures and other facts.

We'll be leaving Munich tomorrow and heading to the Hohenzollern Castle in Hechingen to fulfill our history part of the class. Which btw, is a 5 hour drive from Munich, so we will and have seen a lot of beautiful German countryside. A lot of Bavaria to be exact. Yesterday we were in Numberg, and made a trip to visit the old Nazi Party rally grounds, which were pretty impressive and I come to find that most of it was never finished, or even started. But the plans they had were massive. The place would have contained the largest indoor amphitheater ever, and also the largest hippodrome ever, but the theater was never capped with a roof, and the hippodrome was never even started past the plans. But the three structures that were completed were pretty much so dismantled, it was hard to see them as they were. But the main space where Hitler stood as his troops marched in front of him, was still in tact, and I had an opportunity to stand there. 'Tis a very creepy place, but is used for recreational space, as it once was before the Nazis built on it.

Well, I could go on, but then I wouldn't have any content left for the blog, which I'm still behind again.
