You guys probably haven't heard but there's really bad flooding in the north eastern parts of Australia (Queensland and northern New South Wales) at the moment.

Fortunately I don't live in the effected parts but I was up there between the 26th of Dec and 3rd of Janurary on holidays and I did witness some of the flooding during the drive up there.

Had I have stayed there I wouldn't have been able to get home anymore because they closed the main highway that connects where I live and where I was at.

Here's a really amazing video of a flash flood at Toowoomba and I was only there about a week ago. Make sure you watch it from the start and don't skip any bits.
It just goes to show how forceful nature can be.

edit: hmm the snarkpit youtube tag distorts the video

best watch it here me thinks:

WOW that is amazing, that car getting sucked under the bridge.. wow.

I had something similar happen here in El Paso in 2006/07/09 Right out in front of my home, we had knee deep water in our house.

Wow incredible. The only flooding I've experienced was riding my bike through a flooded causeway and it wasn't too dangerous really. The water wasn't moving too fast and it was about knee deep above the causeway.

This is that same river but further east at Brisbane, the capitol of Queensland:

HAHA. The flooding was primarily in San Diego and LA in California. I think it even washed out some beach from Orange County (or Laguna Beach - I forget which show it went to, either case I was happy because they suck).

It's just horrible what's happening. Even Melbourne has experienced minor floods. Thankfully nothing too bad.

Ah yeah, I've been quite busy with everything, so the computer hasn't seen me much lately. It'll probably have to be Portal2 that will snap me back into the PC zone. At the moment, just no time :(
