Greetings Gamers

If you have been waiting as long as I have for there to be a major update to Counter Strike as I have, then you'll be happy to know that Valve is coming out with COUNTERSTRIKE:GO
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."

CS: GO is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 and will be playable at this year's PAX Prime and Eurogamer Expo 2011.
If you need the official page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/1800/

I will be at this years PAX PRIME, and will get as much info as I can for the PIT and post back to you. It will be a PIT EXCLUSIVE!

Will I have to pay for it?

Also: cool, this is the last thing that was before Episode 3 on the valve list of things to do.

I now hold you personally responsible for any and all personal disappointment I shall experience due to HL2EP3 potentially not coming out in the future.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

haha.

I know Gabe kept talking about 3 titles he wanted us to order: Portal 2 (already out), CS2 (comming out now), and EP3. Plus they're pushing DotA out now. But okay i'll be held responsible. If need be i'll be like these guys:

A bit offtopic, but I read somewhere that they were going to make Episode 3 as a standalone game (Half-Life 3), is that correct or?

Also funny article, omega :hee:

Valve said they would be getting out of the episodic content delivery because of some reasons (don't remember). But so far there has been NO information about EP3, HL3 or anything relating to gordon Freeman (so EP3 might be HL3, we don't know!). I guess Gabe's been burned a few times by what hes said, and hes careful what he says in anything now.

I recall hearing that Gabe wanted readers to list what they want next: Portal 2, CS2, or EP3. Portal 2 is out, CS2 is on the horizon, and now EP3 is all thats left. They're also pushing out DotA2 now, so I don't know what else is in the valve pipe-line.
