Yea, I've played all those maps and agree that those maps are quite awesome, (due in part to the immense amount of custom content) and if we had them here in our database, you bet they'd be star maps for sure! But alas, they are not, and we can't make the authors
share them with us, so we get to work with the content we have. -And we have plenty of awesome maps.
dm_balcony is already on there haymaker. And I agree that it should be as well. I can see what you're saying about it though aaron, it does seem like a really well put together HL2DM map, but nothing more. I'd have to disagree there though. I feel it does have something more going for it. There is an appreciation I have for the
way in which the different spaces connect to one another. When playing through that map, I feel as though "hey, this map must have been super well put together." The spaces just 'flow' into one another. I'm not sure how to explain it, but up until a few years ago, I would not of had this 'feeling' about it. -I suppose that's architecture school digging on my interests.
Also haymaker, do you still happen to have pg_icepick_B2? It would seem that finger hosted everything on his personal server which is now down. But if we had our own copy of it, we could easily add it to the site (along with new screenshots of it). Of course, we could always just ask him for it.
I would add it as a star map, if only it had some screenshots. We can't show users a map with out a download or even screenshots!
[EDIT]: Well, it would seem I
DO have a copy of the map labeled: dm_icepick, so I don't know if that's the latest version or not. But I just got through playing through it, and that is the one done by him (and I also agree it's star map worthy)
