Does anybody suffer from input lag on some mods? I run HL, CS and stuff absolutely fine, but DoD is jerky as hell. Not in a "damn my 56k!" kinda way, as I'm on a 1mb ADSL line. Nor in a "damn my 8mb ATi Xpert@Play!" kinda way, as my system spec is plenty high enough. But in a "damn you, I turned left a second ago, why do you only do it now!!!" sort of way.
It doesn't happen 100% of the time, just every few seconds an input will be delayed, mostly just mouse inputs it seems. Suffice to say its very annoying, enough so to put me back onto CS more than DoD.

As in what I call "mouse lag"? If so, lower your screen resolution, that always fixes it for me.

Actually, this happened to me when I was playing Aliens Versus Predator 2... It was doing some incredibly weird stuff. For example, if you would just waggle the mouse left and right, it would turn left faster than it would turn right- so after about 2-3 even waggles, you would be facing the opposite direction. Also, sometimes it would'nt respond to movements for a second, then be unbelievably sensitive the next.
Never found out what caused it, I just stopped playing the game. So I suppose that's not too much help :/

uh yeah. also check your other rates:
cl_cmdrate (how much you send to the server) and
cl_updaterate (how much you receive)
I would recommend (for 1mb) 50 for both of them

Seriously, I appreciate the advice and all, but I'm certain this is unrelated to network settings. I ping around 30-60, so there are no problems there, and I'm using the same settings for network stuff in other mods with no problems.
This is only happening in DoD, and it even happens if I create my own server. It appears to be somewhat related to the complexity of what is being drawn - for instance, its terrible in the central section of forest.
I read elsewhere that opening the task manager in windows and setting steam's priority to "below normal" and explorer's priority to "high" fixes it, and while it helped a bit for me, it was still occuring
Its not that I don't have the system specs, as when I first started playing DoD it was fine but lately it has been a problem. Have no idea what I've done that could effect it though.
EDIT: Oh I meant to say forceflow, thats for all those tips, I've tried them all out but to no avail

have you attempted to eliminate the obvious?
such as, two games on at once?
it makes no sense how one mod works, and one doesn't, when they both use the same engine..
rebooting not help?
use msconfig to see if all non-essentials are off?
could one be more updated than another, IE patches don't match?
my advice, download the 1110 full patch and reinstall it, then reinstall steam.. you might have a conflict due to different install dates..
sorry, but thats all i can think of ATM

Have you tryed going to a lower screen resolution? Or going from 32bit color to 16bit? Lower some detail maybe.

I'm not sure on this, but I have a feeling this is something to do with directinput. I have no idea how you would fix this though... Is there still a problem if you turn off mouse acceleration in windows?

I couldn't find mouse acceleration anywhere in the mouse settings, where is it normally found? The closest thing I could find was "Increase mouse precision" and disabling that makes it really hard to use the mouse, and didn't fix the problem

Well it seems like it might be fixed, thankfully. I downloaded the newest nVidia drivers and played a game, and didn't seem to suffer from any. The reason I didn't try this earlier was that I remember I had downloaded drivers a few weeks before and those were the newest at the time, so I didn't expect to find more recent ones. I for some reason didn't ever think the gfx card drivers could be causing the input lag but I guess it kinda makes sense. Anyway, issue SEEMS to be resolved, so thanks for all your input

DoD goes screwy if I have newer drivers usually, It's best to get the drivers that fit your card most not necessarily the newest. (i.e. I have a GeForce2Ti and I use the Detonator 30.82 or so drivers even though there are newer ones, it drops my performance from 80-100 fps to like 4-15. It's a huge difference.
