Uh.. maybe this is a dumb question, but it seems that I've lost my HD pack (with updated weapon/monster etc. models) by installing Steam, or is it hidden away somewhere? If it's gone, does anyone have an HD snark w_ or v_ model they can send me?

Steam doesn't have the HD pack for various reasons, and if you chose to delete your original HL directory, then it's gone.

That .exe doesn't work with Steam. It won't detect Half-Life (because technically it isn't installed, Steam is), and thus won't install.

Just extract all the contents of pak1.pak (or whatever the HD pack installs into) and toss it into \valve\, which is what I did. Works beautifully. Make sure you use the patched versions though, with the fixed animations.

Hey Ballblue, could you please conform and use white text like everyone else please? It's easier on our eyes.

I just finished moving over the "HD Pack" to steam.
Took about 15 minutes.
You need to get the pak1.pak file for HL and Opposing Force. Open the HL one first (in pakscape of course) and move all the date (models, sounds, and sprites) into your HL folder under steam (email/half-life/valve). Then move the HL data (which you just copied over) to the OP4 folder (for the HL part of the models) then unpak the OP4 pak.
Simple.
You can 'get rid' of the Condition Zero models by putting models of the same name in the models folder for whatever you're useing them for (CS or CZ). But as for actually deleting them, you can't, they're in an encripted file.

Is there a way to "uncricpt" it? I tried to put the original L337 krew model into cz, after the patch, and because of their new models one of the animations would not function. Death animations -- kept defaulting to "dummy" for some reason. D=

What about this?
Or this?
Or this?
Or this? (ooooooo)

This? (UGH)
This?
If there was a slightly lighter blue, I guess I could use that (cyan). Would unbolding it help?

Though its then dodgy for people using the classic theme. If you just use standard text colour, then it will use the theme default and look fine for everyone

Er, and I think CS has always had a thing against people using custom models and cheating...
