I'm sitting here with a UV light in one hand, a old video card in the other, and my tools: a 8-pack of neon gel pens. My goal? draw over the PCB circuitry on the card and have it glow thanks to a new UV CCFL I just bought.

User posted image

My pens under the UV light. The purple and blue dont light up at all, but meh. What can you do.

My first victim... a old video card. Its a TNT/TNT2 pro 32mb AGP card. I currently use it as my secondary card. But meh.

I'm doing this mod as we speak so I'll keep you updated. If your interested, you can always MSN me. I've got a cam too (sorry, no nudes  )

Your .gif is moving fine for me.

The milky pen is a good idea, but you have to put a fair bit in some cases as most UV lights aren't strong enough. Personally I wouldn't have a UV light in my computer as they're damn hot and the cathode versions I've found to be useless. I'll stick with the ol' blue cathode.

I remember having the same problem with animated gifs not animating i cant remember exactly how i fixed it but ill give it a try
  • In Internet Explorer go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced
tab, scroll down to Multimedia section and make sure the box is ticked
    on 'Play animations in webpages'</li>
  • I also had a problem with Zone Alarm something to do with ad blocking which also meant blocking animated images
hope that helps

WC on the fifth pic i dont see any difference between the circled bits and the rest of the board?

Try this:
  • Remove temporary internet files (extra -> options -> remove files)
Always fixes the problem for me

(not that I use IE that much, but we already had a waaay too long discussion about browsers.)

'tis true. I don't know about Kyrgyzstan, but lots of martial arts guys in china/japan/thailand etc train that way (Especially the Thai Boxers (which is more kickboxing than boxing))

The Okinawan Karate types also recommend similar treatment for your hands, shoulders, etc... Not necessarily by attacking trees, but by hitting something hard anyway.

I know its hard to see in the pics, but here, it looks nice. Darn webcam lol.. cheap thing. The UV light I'll be using in my comp is a cathode, so its bright and cold. But the one I am using right now is a little cheap thing.

Anyways, heres another pic: (the orange dots)

It was Zone Alarm's fault
Cassius said:

Actually, he's not kicking a pole... his just kicking in the air. It might look like a pole but it's just the edge of the floor. It's Rock Lee from the Naruto anime/manga series ^_^. When I found this nice animated .gif I simply couldn't resist....

Speaking of guys kicking poles... I just remembered Kickboxer with Van Dame : \

WC, looks cool... you'll have to take a high res. pic when it's finished

After about 4 hours, this is what the card looks like. Theres daylight now comming in the window so it takes out abit of the effect. Most of the orange dots are done. I need to add a few more. And then I retouch them so they are brighter. I've added a 2 of the yellow lines over the circuitry.

This has to be the most pointless waste of time I have ever observed. except of course people watching TV... I commend you WC for not having been doing that, although I can't say much else for the effort.

You make that joke far too often, Orph.

So pointless when parents limit their kid's time on something without offering some kind of interesting alternative. All it does it make them sit around waiting to be allowed back doing the thing they want to do...

Jesus christ, 5 hours to colour in some dots!? How long do you take to type your posts?! 40 minutes? No offence but your damn slow at it, I know theres a lot, but 5 hours is insanely long to colour in a few dots, even if you went over them 3 times.

Does look good though... Personally I'd just buy a spinkee case that doesn't have a window  Like the Casedge Diabolic Minotaur in red... looks so... evil
