i start to compile the map and it says the map.prt file is missing i dont have any idea wot this file is i kno there i have 1 for the dawnvil map n that compils fine any one got any ideas? :grenade:

i hadn't realized this was a radiant question, but i suppose it makes sense..

the only times that file cannot be found is when its either misplaced, or not generated to begin with..

check the entire compile log. find out where it truly went astray... i am betting.. it was from the beginning of your compile.. something major went wrong and the compile process was halted..

post the log here for our scrutiny.

I personally know nothing at all about Radiant, or CoD editing but i'm thinking the problem is related to this error:

Also this:

couldn't load shader 'textures/sky/burnvilledawn'
Forgive me if i'm wrong, but aren't shader files quite an integral part
of Quake 3 based games? If it's missing then that's not good :razz: Also,
"leaked" doesn't sound healthy.

Perhaps it is worth asking the same question on Quake 3 editing websites as well?

We endeavour to help but our Radiant knowledge as a community isn't up
to speed with some other sources out there :smile: Good luck with it though!

Just the leak is preventing the .prt file from being created. All versions of Radiant should have a Pointfile option in the File menu. Load this, follow it to the leak, fix said leak, compile, and if it leaks again, repeat the process.

The biggest likelihood of a leak is failing to caulk behind a patch mesh (bevel, end cap, other curve). These are incredibly easy to miss due to the apparent solid flow of walls and such. Hiding patch meshes by pressing ctrl+p may give you better insight into where your problem lies, if such a problem is the cause.

'couldn't load shader' errors, don't seem to harm compiling.

Uh, maybe I'm a bit late here, but might also be worth fixing your compile paths etc. so they use backslashes \ (instead of C:/Program Files/) in case there are any other crazy compile errors that could occur.
