I think I remember watching this when it was broadcast, tales of ships
being literally smashed, almost as if with a giant fist by these
gargantuan waves :O shows that truly, mother nature is the one true
world superpower.
nice picture, shame about the filsize though.. :wink: might want to optimise it for modemers...

Interesting stuff, the BBC website is a great resource. Imagine coming
across one of those in a small boat. I think I'll show this to my
sister to scare her. She's going to start working on a cruise ship. :smile:

f**k swimming. It doesn't sound like it matters much what you are doing! pretty damn scary, but maybe it explains stupid myths like the burmuda triangle.

I remember seeing that one two, very interesting indeed. They put sensors on an oil rig in the north sea to record the average wave height of wave that broke against the rig, and found that in fact these so called once in a century 'freak waves' actually occured quite regulary. Scary stuff.
