OK how do i do a curved hallway like below? I've seen this do in meny a map/mod and it sort of lemits my ability to do complex architecture.

What I would do is first create 3 copies of that hallway. Then place
the first two so that they align on the grid, the third will be used
for the curved part (yes, I'm going for the curved hallway on the left
of your image).

I made an image to show the process in steps:

First, clip the two hallway parts with a ratio of 2:1 (otherwise the
curved part will have a different width as the other parts. The ratio
isn't exactly 2:1, I think, but it's the most handy one).

Then, insert the third hallway part and translate it so it aligns up well with one of the hallways.

Last, use Vertex Manipulation to align the other side to the other hallway part, and you're done.

EDIT: The 2:1 ratio is especially usefull, since even things on a 2
unit grid size can be aligned well this way, so you shouldn't have
problems with this different shape of the walls you have.

Also, have a look at A_S's tutorial on the subject, which canbe found here:

The 'problem' with that tut is that the curved part has a different
width than the other parts, wich is something I'm avoiding by using
that 2:1 clipping method. The only thing you need to be sure of is that
your vertexes are at least aligned to the 2 unit grid size.

But, well, after all it depends on whether your hallway needs to be the same width or not.

It is the slope of the cut. I'm sure we've all passed junior high Geometry class, right?

Also note that 3:1 and 4:1 are also good slope ratios as well.

Hey it's me :leper: Half-dude

Is the 2:1 ratio a option you can turn on? I tried doing this and my inside walls woulden't connect becouse they were'nt right on the grid lines. Is there any way to fix this from happining? I don't wan't to limit my walls to being stuck to the grid.

thx guys

There's an option called 'snap to grid' I think, which may be useful.
Alternatively you could be using a much smaller grid that you need. Use
these buttons to make it bigger and smaller [ ]
