Why would there be a new fgd? CS hasn't changed it's entities since beta 6.5 when some of the es_ entities were tweaked a little. That was over three years ago. The only possibly difference is the models in viewer thing, from which a well-respected independant release is probably more reliable and is dependant on VHE's recent update, not CS's.

But those all come from players buying them, you don't need an fgd to add them. Func_buyzone and you're set. If you're talking about the armoury_entity, which is what will lay a gun down, then realize fy_ is not truly a supported map type. ES_ was the last official map type to include that entity, and it hasn't been touched since beta 6.5 (as I mentioned). This is why you could never use the armoury_entity to make an UMP (no clue what they call it now). Their whole current existence is vestigal code, it is not - and has not been for three years - supported.
As I said, the entities have not changed. The weapons did, but not the entities.

say i want to place one specific weapon in a room, like a secret bonus for those who find it, does that constitute a fy? i think not. ive done that plenty of times in both de and cs maps.
the weapons changed, yes...which in turn means your entities need updating, ive got a player_equipt ent that allows me to give anyone anything in CS(as of 1.5), including extra ammo. the whole point is i just want the ability, doesnt mean im going to use it right here and now.
if you dont know where to get the fgd, then just say so.

wow spazz, im guessing you dont play much counter-strike...
de= any map designed with bombsites (terrorists have to bomb specific area"s")
cs= any map designed with hostages (counter terrorists have to rescue the hostages or die trying)
these are mearly prefixes of the maps name, and have absolutely no affect on the map itself, but all respected cs mappers give these prefixes so others can quickly distinguish what maptype it is.
THNX Morty

fy are those maps where there are either no buyzones, or there is one buyzone positioned so that ct's and t's have to fight for it...also they have weapons preset out on the map.
and i believe ka is either a clan, or its maps that were designed to be played as a game, no killing...like ka_giantbean...very fun map.
most prefixes are to desplay the clan for which the mapper is in or owns. post any other prefixes you want and ill try to give you an idea...but cs_ and de_ are the only ones you really need to worry about.

Cash is still theoretically right, as a rule FGD's dont change with updates unless there are new entities placed via mapping, surely.

where did i ever say that valve was going to be writing the new fgd file? i never said that, i however knew that with new weapons there would be a new fgd for cs.
hmm, well the one ka map i played (ka_giantbean) wasnt a killing map at all, infact the server would set alltalk on, and kick anyone who kills. the whole point of the map was to see who, and how many people could acually climb the beanstalk...very fun.
as for as_ maps, i myself only liked oilrig, other then that it seemed to easy for the terrorists to kill the vip, unless you got a good ct team (or horrible t team) but anyways, i guess i just forgot to mention as maps. SORRY!!!
P.S. Morty, change your post into an "answer to the problem" post so i can give ya credit.

There are some maps csde_ around, they have hostages and a bombpoint and to win a team has to either rescue the hostages, plant the bomb, or kill the other team. They generally aren't that great.
