Finally, after years of having the same old rig I seem to be getting a
new one. A few months ago I put togather a list of parts online for my
new, suped up computer and am finally coming to the day that I purchase
it! I am posting this to show you all the parts, and maybe even see if
you know where to find cheaper / better parts.

(Btw, thanks to Crono for helping me finalize this a few months ago  )

Oh man, that old ass list?

You should update the prices and get a little more specific on some of the parts
(Hint Hint, look at other DVD burners. I just bought one at a store, OEM, for $88. It's about 12-16X accross the board for DVD burning. Pioneer DVR-108.)

Damn, I wish I could afford some new parts myself.

Orph, you might want to look for other boards. I'm pretty sure you can find a board the same price or like $10 more that supports 400 Mgz ram (at the very least).

Well say that next time, I was under the impression you were planning on buying it.

And of course Free is better. If any situation comes up and I say it'd be better to pay for something then to get it from someone else for free, just think for a second that maybe I didn't know the option of free was there.

Motherboard - Personally I wouldn't go MSI, i would go either asus or abit. Here are 2 mobo's that are similar to this one that I would choose over the MSI,
http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?categories=1&model=244
http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socket754/k8n-e_d/overview.htm

Cpu - Same as mine, works well, good choice =]

Ram - I've never heard of this ram =/ I would personally go corsair

None of those video cards listed will let u down.

Hope that helps!

The choice is up to the person who is buying the product, I've just noticed over time MSI gives the most bang for your buck, so to speak.

I've had endless problems with ASUS products. To be honest, I don't know why everyone loves them so much.

MSI stuff is usually reasonably priced, well made, and heavily bundled. Not to mention the two boards you suggest have the exact same features.

Video card, is again up to personal taste.

Oh, and ABIT f**king sucks ass. Jesus Christ. I've never, EVER, seen an A-Bit motherboard that stood the test of time. And I'm talking about at least 8 years of use.

Not to mention ASUS and ABIT have a habit of putting the power connector right next to the ram slots.

I preffer MSI stuff because they are quite well priced my motherboard only cost me ?55.

The only problem I've had with MSI was that my old video card which again only cost me ?55 didn't come with a fan so it was constently over heating with the side of the case on so I had to have that off but with my new one works just fine with the side on even when I overclock it to twice its speed
