Well, now that I have released Cliff Complex, I have only  opened up VHE once.  You know, it all started a long time ago with Mechanized.  I dont know how I got that one started but I did.  Then I made Dark Complex with 2 parts of Mechanized and Cliff Complex with parts of D_C.  Now Cliff Complex is out and I feel like I've actually finished something for once

But starting a new map has aways been a problem.  I have 1 idea right now, im just waiting for the reply.  I can expand something into a map, I just cant seem to start anything...

Since C_C, I've put up a few brushes together with an idea in mind but it dosent make it through the first 10 or so brushes.  I've looked through my hard drive at my privious "maps" actually a collection of brushes put together.  But out of all of them, all, I couldnt find anything interesting, anything that I could expand on.

I see alot of you guys shoot out maps like no tomorow, how do you guys do it?

i hate to break this to you WC, but only Gustavo made maps fast and were of any real quality, fast and quality seldom go hand and hand, you want a perfect example..

your recent release of this map, IMO was to rushed, i looked at the map, and must say, you received some excellent advice, the map looks much improved over the last beta i saw, but i have to say that it honestly was not yet ready for release..

the connectivity was very iffy, the item placement was off, and the lighting was bad as well.. of course this is all opinion on my part, and bottom-line, you must be the one to make the final decisions... i just feel that you rushed it, because you just got tired of it and wanted a fresh map project..

but... do not only take my word, you should ask your other helpers, someone gave you some excellent feedback cause this version is much better..

time, you have s**tloads of it, use all you need..

releasing substandard maps will get you a reputation all right, but i doubt it will be the one you seek.. snarkpit has some of the best mappers online for HLDM... open your eyes... note the success's and failures..

my average was approximately 1 every 6 months..

my build times usually were 3 to 6 weeks each.

Actually, I liked how C_C turned out.  I cant see what was wrong with the lighting that your talking about.  Weapon placement seemed just to me but then again I`ve havent played HLDM in so long that I forget how many they put in.  And the connectivity was ... I didnt really want to connect the top and bottom part of the cliff.

lighting aside for the present, i think you should get some outside feedback on this version, i am to close to the center of it all to sound unbiased..

find someone you trust, and get them to hack it apart for you..

i can only post my opinions bud, it doesn't make the correct, or incorrect...

the map, is a lot better than it could have been.. so be proud.

lol, indeed I am proud of it.  Because after all time, I`ve finaly finished something.  However, starting something new map I cant do.  Today, for example.. I`ve started 3 new maps, err. collection of brushes.. but nothing seems to stick.

I'm sorry I never got my feedback posted up. I didn't get a chance to post it before I went home for a weekend, and when I came back I found you had released the map. I haven't seen the final version yet, I'll get it next time im on a computer with a CDRW and give a critique if you like.
