uhmm how do you guys put a backround sound in a map. like you want the map to be windy so you want to play a sound like wind or sumtin at the backround. should i use ambient_generic? how do i trigger it? what is the prefered volume and pitch.

Or you can use an env_soundscape, which will play a set of "appropriate" noises for you- read the entity help, and find more sentence names by getting the GCF viewer from our files page, opening the Source Engine/HL2 GCF, and looking inside the soundscapes.txt file.

I don't see any difference between the HL1 ambient_generic and the HL2 one. They work the same and have the same specifics.
