Hi there. I noticed that we have a plucky bunch of members on this site who have a keen interest in politics and such like. I'm busy trying to write a 3000-word essay for my Media Studies course at college, but I've hit a speed-bump and run out of decent sources of information. I basically have to answer the following question:

How have the peripheries of mainstream american media reacted to the propagandist attitude within mainstream media sources? Discuss with reference to such Media texts as 'Bowling for Columbine' and 'Fahrenheit 9/11'.

Right, well I've written about 2000 words of this essay so far, yet my teacher thinks about 800 words of it is bollocks! Quite simply, I need sources of information about the News Media giants (such as CNN etc.) acting as a propaganda machine, and also, I need quite a few good extracts from the two films stated above, but they have to have something to do with the Media. Could anybody help me out with this? Even if it's merely providing some links that might be useful to me. Thanks a lot to whoever takes an interest and lends me a hand!

P.S. This essay has to be finished by tommorow  ... lol.

Love Greensinge, xxx

I can't help you right now, but look into the "fox news network" as a propaganda machine mainly, Its really funny to watch over here just to see all the propaganda that they spew towards you daily, and its even funnier to think that people actually believe that crap. CNN I respect, there isnt much propagana as there is censorship in CNN, or NBC for that matter, but look into Fox news network for propaganda  .

I went to a college which isn't part of a school as the one on my old
school didn't do computing or stuff like film studies. I'm not sure if
I'm going to uni as there are quiet a few jobs in banking and stuff
which have good start off pay.

Ouuahhh Fox News? Thats the most s**tty channel i've seen in my life. I
saw a documentary about Fox News, and the clips that they viewed there
smelled so much conservative propaganda that i had to hold by breath
while i watched it. It was especially fun when they interviewed
(i think it was GWB son) and they thought it was going to be an hour of
GWB buttlicking and "ohhh his politics are soooo goooodd!!". Instead he
turned out to be a real lefty and after 15 minutes the host lost
control and exploded all over him with rage.
