Happens to me all the time; the camera view just keeps moving forward or backward or whatever? The solution is usually to select an object and pop in and out of vertex manipulation mode - it seems to 'reset' the 3d view for me and the camera will stop moving.

Happens to me too, although to fix it i dont have to do anything as elaborate as CJ. I just move the mouse outside of the 3D window normally and the camera stops moving.

Happens to me to so I just scroll the mouse wheel forward and back a few times.
It also deoes it to me when I'm doing anything like looking on the net or trying to make a web page. My cursor will also move across my screen whenever it feels like it even when the mouse is not touching anything that could slide and move it.

you guys should do some sort of a comparison, i knew reno had this issue (but didn't actually recal it till i read his post), but it was way back in V3.. it would be interesting to find out if its related to something in your PC's, cause i have never had this happen, BUT it could also be due to a step i don't use in mapping often either, such as vertex-manip..
anyways, i am glad you solved it..

It happens to me when my mousewheel screws up (sometimes it auto scrolls super fast).

Happens to me too. Maybe it'll get fixed in a late version of Hammer.

well, it doesnt just "crawl" along uncontrollably, i mean it f**kin shoots across the space....to the edge of the mapping space, and is done before i can do anything about it usually.....sound familiar still?

Mine moves realtively slowly, its like some "feature" that lets you move around without having to press a button or something. If you hold the duwn cursor it normally makes the movement stop, but once you let go it starts moving again, like an auto-accelerator or something. Doesn't seem to be related to using vertex manipulation or anything, it just happens occasionally when im moving around the 3D view. But as I said, I'm pretty sure it stops if i move the mouse cursor into a 2D view.
