HL2 For Kids was set up in response to an idea suggested by Wisemx

to provide younger people (3 - 12) with a
series of maps to play that are non-violent, accessible and fun. The
central theme of the project
is the fairground or amusement park.

It is hoped that a full series of maps can be put together to
provide a lot of entertainment for children (and those of us who
are still children !)

maps that are non-violent, accessible and fun.
Define the term "violent map". A map that punches players if
they try to spawn camp and sais cuss-words eachtime you hit a wall
with your crowbar, perhaps?

It's not the maps that are violent in these games but the gameplay.
What's the big difference between slaughtering eachother in a destroyed
town and slaughtering eachother in a joyful room o' happyness full of
colored balls and pretty baloons and stuff? ▌

Not much, if that's what they were doing, except if you clicked on the
link you'd see that there is no violence whatsoever in this
project. Instead, you ride rollercoasters and play typical
amusement park games (involving the gravity gun).

So peaceful and...well, fluffy  vomits.

Anyway, most kids I know (aged between 3 and 12 y.o.) wouldn't play such a thing for anything (what, after playing so much cs?).

Its probably aimed at people who don't play the likes of CS - not all
kids have you know. I think its a novel idea and wish you the best of
luck with it.

I can't, honestly, see anybody I know, young or old playing it.
Everyone in my family and all my friends, aging from around 5 years to
45 years, all play stuff like CS and DM. Just recently, BF2 is a
big hit with us all as well.

I say go for it, and I'm sure I'll play it... I'll just get rid of it soon after.

I think its a nice idea. My girlfriend doesnt play computer games
(except for the sims of course..) like simply because they are too
violent.

She even feels bad when i kill guys in multiplayer games..

I didn't do much reading up on the project, but I do think playing with
the combine ball and attempting bounce shots would be pretty cool.
