lol pretty good, i love the purple mountains  the lens flare looks a -bit- out of place, maybe just take it out and emphasise the lighting effects.

the Swat guy looks good, maybe just make his gun straighter and maybe make his suit darker

Good starting practice; you're learning the use of several important PS tools in the best possible way - that is, by uninhibited experimenting

With regard to the pictures themselves: I'm not sure what #1 is meant to be apart from an abstract. Obviously lens flares are normally used to depict actual lens flare effects, which are always rendered over the top of every item in the scene. That's an artefact of how a lens flare is produced in a camera lens. Having a lens flare "covered up" by something looks odd.

#2 is a good start, though maybe try to get away from simple "primary colours".

How am I insuting anyone?? Please tell me, so I can do something about it.

No, its not about the content of the pics. I mean that the guy starting a thread like this should be the one posting the pics. Its like if you post a map you made and want some feedback, after a few short relplies someone turns it into a regular conversation, witch isnt very fun for the one who started the thread.. Maybe im wrong as usual...

wrong? no, mistaken? yup..

if a topic wanders, its normal.

if it really bothers you, start your own pic thread..

you always ask a question as if you need our permission, it gets old after a while.. if you are still in doubt about how receptive snarkpit is, we cannot help you.

its insulting to have someone put on the attitude of "feel sorry for me"

even if this is not intended in any way, its how i perceive it.. you always begin a question as if, you are not good enuff to ask it.. its old.

I simply dont want to make people mad. Happened to me on another site. There was a thread about how to make the site better. So I thought about everything that could be done better, what should be removed/replaced and so on. When I gave constructive critique to the admin, He freaked out and said I was a sad little negative brat. And for some reason I screwed up the forum (without even trying!) So everyone turned against me.

I just dont want things like that to happen again

you are having a conversation with the person most in conflict, what does that tell you?

i am still here, and am not about to leave any time soon.. in spite of all my conflicts, lep still listens to my advice from time to time, i doubt you will have to leave for suggesting things.. not accepting that your advice was unimportant, now that could get you into trouble, but just suggesting??? not likely..

as i have said on many occasions, this is probably the most insiteful mapping site on the web....believe me when i tell you, they will be fair, brutally honest, forthright, and at the same time, do it with an air of charm and elegance...and if you listen carefully, and pay close attention, you will get what you need ....

if you look around this site, you will see all the times i have been the one asking the questions, and i get the answers.....not always what i would like to hear, but, in the end, it has benefited me to the nth degree....

i for one, would love to see what yer up to, and fear not, they will accomodate you in most any endeavor you choose to immerse yourself in....and rest assured, youll get feedback....just dont be afraid to speak your mind, and be honest....itll pay dividends unlike any other site....

Back to the topic at hand.

Diablo, first of all I applaud you for even trying to draw in photoshop, with a mouse :leper: . If there is any way possible, I STRONGLY urge you to purchase a Wacom graphics tablet. You can find the Graphire 2 tablet for under $80 on the internet. Try ebay first.

Now, once you're able to draw properly on the pc, start hanging out here www.conceptart.org or here http://forums.sijun.com/

Much like Dr. Brasso said about the Snarkpit, these 2 forums hold a wealth of information and resources. Some of the members, who participate in critiques, and discussions, are top industry professionals. The Sijun forum is owned by a Valve employee  .

Anyway, your pictures are what I would expect from someone just jacking around with photoshop and a mouse. I think that digital painting/drawing, is one of the greatest mediums, though, and would love to see you push yourself further.

I have a Wacom but my hand is really shaky a lot of the time (not visibly). Still, it's very useful.
