I don't know if you have seen the latest theatrical trailer, but I was surprised to see many scenes emulating the first person shooter perspective. Looks more and more interesting. The Rock has actually shown alittle depth in his acting abilities lately too.(See "Be Cool"). I'll definitely want to see this now.

Wow, that preview is worth watching, especially the last 3 seconds... hint: chainsaw + pinky

I've never seen first person perspective done that way and that often
in a movie before... this will definitely be an interesting
movie. Videogames have becoming more and more cinematic recently,
but now it seems the roles are reversed.

in the first person shoots i could barely tell the difference between the pc game and the movie:)

thats

a) due to the small screen/bad quality of the trailer

b) a nice compliment to the pc game

i vote a) till i see it in cinema

I'll watch it once it appears in the 3.99 bin at my local gas station.

It'll suck, it's doomed to (hahah) because the game was such apiece of s**t.

Interesting conclusion, the Tomb Raider film was crap when the game was... er... actually you're right

But the real question is, how exactly do you "discover the final 10% of the human genome" and from it create zombies?

I dono. The whole first person movie kind of idea doesn't really appeal to me. besides, why in hell would you send soldiers into a place like that when you could just nuke it and be done? It would make much more sense with the typical "trapped by the disaster" theme.

They aren?t really good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one tumbles down the stairs.

Let me get this straight, the game series has existed for ten years and you're just now asking this because of the movie? There'd be no story. But then again, when they first made Doom, the story was in the manual and was about a paragraph long.

It's mindless action, haven't had a good action movie in a long time, so it'll be welcomed by me.

The first person parts look really well done, actually. I'm glad the whole thing isn't 1st person though, that'd be terrible.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

The first person actually looks pretty cool. I think I will go see this when it comes out.

The First Person cam looked far better than I expected. And the monster
fights seemed pretty good (go chainsaw). I will definitely go watch
this movie when it comes out.The soundtrack seemed to suck though, or
maybe it was just the trailer...

NB: Doom 3 sucks.
