There will be a post ont he front page with this same content, Please
do not call this to my attention. I have only done it on the front page
as well so that I may catch the attention of people who dont check out
the forums often.
We have a great team working on C:O and it is pulling through very well.

You may be asking "Conflict omega?? what?"

CONFLICT:Omega is a new game we have under developement and in my
opinion, I think it promises to be one of the best game ideas I've ever
seen.

It is a cross between an MMORPG - FPS - and RTS.

But thats not even the full idea of this game. The idea is to make a
game that pretty much everyone and anyone can play and enjoy, so we are
trying to incorporate almost everything you could want to do in a game.

To learn more go to www.conflictomega.com

Currently, I am a mapper for the team. We are doing great, but we wouldnt mind speeding up the process.

We need more:

Programmers

Modelers

Mappers

Concept Artists

Texture Artists

If you think you can help us out, email anorris1@charter.net
with any previous works you have done.

Tell them you were referred by
"Leviathan". You dont have to, but it helps for him to know how you got
his email :\

You can also go to the website and post your things on the "join the team" forum.

One more thing - don't expect this to be like a full time/part time job.

This is more about building up a portfolio, gaining references, adding bulk to your resume, and most importantly having fun.

You may or may not receive payment based on your commitment to our
project, but don't expect to see a paycheck the moment you join.

Is this a stand-alone game with a new engine, or a mod of an existing
one? The reason I ask is because I doubt any existing game is set-up
for this kind of mod. The sheer amount of coding involved would be
huge, then you'd have thousands of other elements and pieces to make.
Even if it was from scratch, you'd need an extremely huge and dedicated
team with no lives in order to pull this off in any amount of time.

How ambitious.

It looks like it's from scratch, otherwise they would have clearly stated it (not to mention, building on top of other engines costs money)

I'm sure they're already aware it's going to take a long time, Smith. Their news dates back to 2003.

They have a hefty crew. Around 30 people. Now, how many people are doing what and where is a different question.

The only thing that would make this seem promising would be some sort of media. Either get that FAQ updated so it doesn't say the beta will be out this year, or start putting up screen-shots. At this point the entire engine should be done, to be honest, as level design is really the close to the last step. How is it going to be accessed? If you have no money, how do you plan to cater the game to the entire planet?

It's just some thoughts. But, to be honest ... all that site has to show is that you have thought out ideas and a bunch of people. There's no specifications on the engine or anything. Not to mention, there are claims of what the engine can do ... yet it isn't done ... that creates scepticism.

Anyway, good luck.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Ditto. Really nice concept and idea, but until I see some media I'm
probably going to be a bit sceptical about this. Good luck though.

Indeed, me wants media.

Also, a good description of the game is hard to find. The key features
list is too long and doesn't really quickly give me points that are
unique to your game - many MMORPG games give superb 3D graphics and
wide, persistent worlds, that's not really a key feature of your game
but a feature of the genre.

I could form a sort of impression of what the game is going to look
like but it's not so easy to find. You might want to look into those
sections of the site.

All in all, got something to back-up those claims about great gameplay
and superb graphics? Otherwise you'll just look like any of the other
games that fail, whether you will fail or not.

Even if you had a full-time large professional development team you'd be told to cut about half of that list.

Looking at the current member roster, one word springs to mind... "HUGE"

Can you not motivate the current list to provide the necessary materials? Seems to me that if you are still recruiting that you might have considered your choices more closely before the list grew to its present proportions.

At this point, if anyone of skill joined, you'd have a power struggle for top billing. What if a new member is more skilled than say "Lead Animator" or "Lead Writer"?

Sadly, I think/feel that more forethought should have transpired beforehand.

A sentence flashed through my head when the page loaded. "TOO MANY CHIEFS AND NOT ENOUGH BRAVES"

good luck.

That's better. I like the weapon models a lot. Only criticism is that
the guys trousers look a little odd, but apart from that, keep up the
good work, and good luck.
