What's the best way to make some realistic drops/water streams falling from the roof into the water container ? (see screenshot) (and yeah, I know textures are mis-aligned on 2 sides of the roof)

Do a illusionary with a scrolling texture of water drops.

Like Azelito said, use the tutorial which Lep wrote (Water falls) Just use your imagination and change the texture to water drops.

There might be some env_ something that has this as well, or you can just use Spirit, or someone elses pre-made sprite water drops.

There is a tutoring here that you can make rain drops falling using env_beam entities.

I think the env_beam looks better for a moderate sized outdoor area... you're probably better off with an animated/scrolling func_illusionary

Do you want drops, then I remember reading a tutoral that told you how to make drops of water fall (I've never done it so I wouldn't know if it worked), but you use a entiy called env_blood, what this does is it makes red blood fall in drops, you make it water by having a env_render target it and give it "water" properties.

Just to let you know when I meant water properties I meant like: render properties to color, and set it to a color of blue, is there a tut for this? if there isnt ill do it.

this is a very good tut, ive used it in one of my maps, mabe i should finish it and post it? , anyways the only prob is that it can lag up if there are too many env_beams in one area but for your are it should be ok, if i were u i would try it.

Thats where I think its from, but I made a beta map for the idea, but for some reason the "blood" is white and grey, even with env_render targeting it, well maybe it will look real......if you close your eyes and go off to neverland.
