(This is for HL1) I noticed that a lot of times when I use an elevator (even in the actual campaign) the player gets stuck in the elevator when it stops and you have to reload.
Is there a way to avoid this problem or is it just an issue with the game?
Thanks.

Odd. I have played the original and the steam version all the way back to feb of 99 and I never got stuck in this way.

I know one of the causes for it but surely Valve wouldn't have done it.
If you put a func entity over another func, you'll get stuck. IE, you cannot put a ladder over a grate.

I dunno. I never had trouble with elevators in the SP game.

A way to get around this is to have the trigger-changelevel occur once you are inside the elevator and the doors close. Once the level change ocours, set it up so that the movement of the eleator is only illusionary and it never actualy moves (set up a multimanager which would control an env_shake, ambients, etc). This will remove any type of getting stuck.
