If you got a $100 around, you can buy the Torque Engine from garagegames.com. That's a damn good deal because the engine's pretty customizable and easy to use.

You sort of contracted it - even if its a dated engine, ?100 is a steal, I don't think you pay your ?100 and thats it. Its not as simple as "they own your stuff", but there is some clause that stops you making 100% of profits from any ventures I believe.

Actually, the correct term would be, you "license" the engine. You aren't flat out buying it from them, but simply paying for the privilege of using their technology.
