After all our bitching about not having a user review feature, we finally get one and submit none. I'm going to try to create one tomorrow, even though I'll have a hard time squeezing out more than a few paragraphs. Is anyone else up for the challenge?

Does anyone have any particular maps they'd like reviewed, or know of a map of outstanding excellence or horrendusness?

Personally I'd like to see both serious and non-serious reviews. Minging map mondays were always a hoot.

Lep, could you clarify if there is other criteria other than:

The review should ideally be over 200 words long and describe both the physical
design of the map and the gameplay. Please spell correctly, use correct grammar and write a decent review or it might not
be accepted!

Is it possible for normal users to review offsite maps Gwil, or is that
reserved to those with admin power? It would add a little more
flexibility when picking a map if we could, considering the scarcity of
maps.

I can't fetch files or add new maps, it goes by map ID, Leperous might be able to do differently but I don't think so. It might be possible with file fetching, but I think at the moment you are restricted to site based maps.

That's how it is at the moment because the review button is on each map page, no external review access - something to ask Lep about/suggest, and to consider for the larger map reviewing scene relating to the Snarkpit.

i have used my quota of ideas about the user controlled review system we have. i fear if i suggest one more item, lep will blow a seam and remove it entirely.

this is no longer my battle, good hunting guys.

I would love to do reviews, except for the fact that there are hardly any maps worth reviewing out there right now...

practice on a few of the older HL1 good ones then.. it may do you less harm to write a review of an old map you know well, than to write a new review, of a new map you hardly know.

i considered my reviews top notch, they didn't pass muster. i am not discouraged, but will have to consider how best to improve an already top notch writeup..
i suggest practicing on maps we have already guys.
