This'll annoy Orph but I'll post it here anyway.

In my section I have a waterlogged crate I want floating on the water. What's a good way to do this using very few entities? I could use a train but that's a bit too much - at the moment I have a func_plat but it stops at the bottom and top, making it really stupid looking. Maybe I have a bad speed setting or something?

Also, has anyone made a darker water_green or something so it isn't illuminated? My section looks really stupid with bright green water in a dark environment.

Okay, I made some changes to my section.

User posted image

There's a huge red prefab crate on the right, and you can scarcely make out the waterlogged floating crate. Oh yeah, there's a couple bits of junk at the bottom of the water.

EDIT: I am unsure of how to continue. I think the rockwork needs to be stretched up higher to block more vision of the sky, and the walls need to go much more upward so it's not the feeling of playing in a bowl.

Dr. Brasso: I wish I could do the a whole section but i dont have the time to. And plus I dont want to take away your section that you have already started. But thanks for the offer. So lets just stick with the original idea.. once you guys get all ur sections together send me the rmf and I will go through and spice it up in place.

Due to a computer upgrade (HDD and ram) I havent been able to open up VHE for the simple reason that its no longer installed on my machine. I'll be headed out downtown today and pic-up my new hard drive as well as an extra strip of 128mb SDram. Once I have that in my computer, I'll be able to reinstall all my stuff and get cracking on VHE again.

CJ, i dont mean to be mean...but inorder for u to do what u wish to help us out, we'd have to tell WC to piss off, and im not about to do that. however, he does have alot of work he suppose to do for this team, maybe you can "HELP" him with this, if he allows you. i myself dont mind if you join the team.

ok guys, id like to get an idea of how far we are... so when you all have the time, please PM me with a status report (estimated % done...textures used "full correct names" anything else i might want or need to know)

aight, gl guys...brasso, if you'd like i can send u myn and MS's section to give you an idea of where u should be going with ur section.

P.S. i like ur section horn...it looks really nice, sorry i cant help wit the crate...i have no idea :| gl man

Things U Could Add: Horn
  • lava/slime barrels to more fit in with the sections created so far
  • maybe some piping as both the complete sections so far both have pipes (check my pipe-works tut)
  • maybe something other then crates or atleast not only crates
  • some type of machinery, or mechanism something the player can interact with
  • maybe some barb-wire on the wall to give it a bit more kick
just some ideas for ya horn, take umm or leave them

MoneyShot's and Sinner_D's sections have been connected together (Sinner_D, I do hope you'll have other stuff to put in your section, its really plain, dont mean to flame or anything but its just one big hollow room).

I will be adding in dimentions to my area and then whoever wants to add their section tell me and I'll send it to ya.

OK So what do we have so far? 8 Rooms and 1 connection pipe or what?

If anyone doesn't mind making a hidden teleporter in thier section using some little button system I'd love to make a secret room...

If anyones ever seen my secret rooms you'll know how extravegant they are- I once did a remake of the Quake 2 secret room from the final level, complete with models and swimming pool :kitty:

What we have so far are the connected sections of MS and Sinner_D, DocRock has a section, so does Schmung and Doc Brasso. Hornpipe2 has a section as well. And I have mine as well.

That makes 7 sections all together. We're not following the original plan of where the sections go however.

Doc Brasso, did Sinner_D give you the map? If not, get it from him. Link your section to the others (even if your not finished). That way, we know where yours will go and have an idea of how it looks.

Once your done with it, send it back to me. I'll look over and add my section.

Schmung, Hornpipe2 and DocRock, are you guys ready to link your sections?

Myrk-, if you want to add in your little secret rooms, just get something started and we'll find a way to link them later.

I need to add those barrels and barbed wire and pipes (good ideas, thanks Sinner_D) and then I'll be ready to hook 'em together. One question, there will be tau cannons right? I need to make sure I've opened up that top part of mine for a little gauss jumping.
