Hi People,
I am new to the Snarkpit. My first question then: I make a cube. Use 'Vertex Tool' to turn it into verious kind of cubes. To change it. You have four views. Camera/Top/Front and Side view. I can use 'Vertex Tool' in every view.
Now again I want to use 'Vertex Tool'. only this time it only works in 'camera' view. Maybe I pussed a button? Which one? I don't know. Can somebody help me?
Thanks.
Rulez.

Try pressing the Vertex tool twice, that switches some aspects of it, but what shapes are you making? There are easier ways to make certain things.

Thanks anyway. But that is not the problem. If you press the 'Vertex Tool' once, twice or more, the places were can change the objects changes. Please forgive for my incorrect English writing.
I have much to learn, only thing I want to know is, why can't I move the object in the top/side/front view...?

Because while in vertex manipulation mode, the object cannot be moved. Just move the object to where you want it to be before you manipulate it. Why are you trying to move the object while in vertex manipulation anyways? Just curious.

Don't use the vertex tool if you are new to mapping, it can lead to
invalid brushes and what not, try using the clip tool instead.

I'm experiencing the same problem and I don't have shift or ctrl down... Raah. Anyone know why yet?
By the way why can't you undo while vertex modificating? That's just
plain silly, sometimes you make a small mistake that is too hard to
revert, but then you have to exit vertex mode and undo everything.

Yes, I know it's not a bug, it's just a bummer when you have to deal with it, you never know if someone knows a workaround.
Anyway, here's the solution to the no vertex editing in 2D problem:
while in vertex mode you can drag in the open, you make a kind of
selection box that resembles the one you use to select. But it's not
the same. Usually this selection box also disappears as soon as you
release the mouse button, but it didn't do that on that occasion for
some reason (bug? my mistake?)
Anyway, whenever going in vertex mode I couldn't edit in 2D mode as
long as the blue selection box stayed visible (it's visible in 3D view
as well, everywhere but won't disappear).
You have to find this blue selection box (mind you, it can be extremely
small as you probably made it unawarely), and resize it to the absolute
minimum (0x0 units).
Only then the selection box disappears and then 2D vertex editing is again possible.
(update: the blue selection box stays when you're busy editing vertices
and accidentally click next to it and then drag a selection box)
(update2: I'm not able to reduce the box to 0 x 0 units unless I
activate auto-selection & select by handles, don't ask me why)
I ask you why, but I give you a solution.

i didnt think you had to resize the selection box down to get rid of it. I would find it first, then select it and hit enter (that would make it disapear) and deselect anything that it was grouping and carry on with what ever tool i was using.
