We have a boobies thread, a real love story, a phobia thread. Why not have a food thread?

I realise that everything listed below makes me a hippocrate since i
was bitching about E-numbers so there's no need to point that out.

Super Noodles: mmm, heart clogging

Cold Ambrosia Devon Custard: The problem with this is after i've gorged myself in a bowl of this stuff, i go off and vomit, ironic eh?

Fried Rice in sweet and sour sauce: I love rice

Sweet and sour chicken and rice: I also love chicken.

Tate Lyles Golden Syryp: This stuff is godlike when just eaten out of the tin, when the spoon goes in heaven explodes and your teeth rot

Cheese toastie in the pan: This stuff is sooo good. Its a sort of mix of egg, cheese, mustard, milk and flour and when grilled is sooo good.

Coca-Cola and Diet Coke: I drink this stuff by the litre, its good.

Nestle Double Cream Chocolate: mmmmm, creamy.

Subway: Mmmm, healthy and fast.

Enough of my silly food, lets hear about the tastes of the common pitters.

Chips and gravy with plenty of bread and butter. Butter, mind, none of
that polunsaturated, pale yellow scrape made popular by health freaks
and emaciated veggies.

I've got two categories: things you can get in US and things in UK.

US
  • Beef Lo Mein/General Chicken From Bamboo House in Willow Springs, MO.
  • Imo's Pizza
  • Canned Tamales/Ravioli
  • Taco Bell
  • My Grandma's Beef Stroganoff
  • Buffalo Wings (From my dad and I or from Poor Richard's in St. Louis)
  • Indian Food. (curry)
UK
  • Cadbury Crunchie
  • Those little "fudge" candy bars, Ben from Scotland called them "Fingers o fudge" Dunno what they're really called tho.
  • Heinz Golden Syrup Treacle/Spotted Dick/Sticky Toffee
  • Maynards
  • Walker's Crisps
  • REAL chips with salt, malt vinegar, catsup and salad creme.
  • Most of the menu @ Wetherspoon's (even the vegetarian stuff)
Most of you will say, "Dag, that s**t's nasty!" because it's mostly pre-packaged or resurant food, but i LOVE IT!
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Anything with tabasco sauce on it; cheese on toast, fish, steak, burgers, hotdogs, pot noodles.

I'm addicted to that stuff. If I don't sweat, its not hot enough. Not as nice on the way out though.

Go on! We understand  I disgust Fish myself, so I can never eat it :S

Anyway, number one - grilled meat! Especially pork. Not fat, but real
meat. Also, grilled wieners. (dunno if that's the right word, but
sausages sure are  )

I also find bor? (a russian soup) admireable. I can't get enough of it.

Then... actually there is something that beats ALL of them. Big Mac
(lol). And fries  I can NEVER get enough of it if I had the chance...

I like Sushi with tuna soaked in strong dark soy sauce
Is there a sushi restaurant in Inverness - do they sell locally caught fish?

I tried raw fish on a Scottish fishing trip once (mackerel and pollack)
and found it insipid, though nowhere near as gruesome as I'd imagined.
Wouldn't tuna soaked in strong dark soy sauce taste of strong dark soy
sauce?

I like vanilla ice cream with cinnamon, orange and watermelon skins. People say I'm odd.

I like sandwiches with lots of meat and cheese... veggies are only good
in salads, and only then with bacon bits/ham/croutons/ranch dressing.

Bacon cheeseburgers may well be the best thing ever.

Also, hamburgers are good with EITHER a hot dog (broken into 2-3 parts
and laid on top of the patty, of course) OR salsa... I haven't tried
with both and I don't think I will.
One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

An Ulster Fry is NOT a way to cure a hangover. The greasiness alone
makes me feel queasy just looking at them. That said, its rare I'd ever
have a breakfast, I'd sometimes make one at night instead.

Most of the menu @ Wetherspoon's (even the vegetarian stuff)
Wetherspoons does food? they only seem to do Aftershock in shots of 4 at a time and a bottle of either vk or smorinof ice when i go there.

but yeh back to food I like
  • proper chips from the chippie with battered sausages (got to have two cos they dont batter the large sausages  ) and curry
  • Beef stew and Dumplings
  • Cheese and baked bean tosties
  • Cheese and bakon tosties
  • a good English breakfast (I try to cut the dip bread out now especially when I have a hangover)
  • Minced Beef chips and thick gravey
  • Apple/Rubarb/Rasbery/Mixed fruit crumbel with thick Birds Custard
Now I must stop listing them cos Im getting hungry and its not good cos I want to go to bed

They batter large sausages in the chippie down the road from me. They
also batter mars bars. mmmmmm, 1500 calories per serving, enough to
last you a full day.

I also went to a chinese where they put melted chocolate in my fried rice for me. It was good.
