I normally play CS with a bunch of the regulars from GA, and they're all really cool people. Nothing "shaky" about 'em. They're all great guys and, if you play with them, you'll realize that they really are in it for the love of the game. When you play with a group like that, you know you're going to have a fun time, regardless or who wins/loses, how spiffy the map is, whatever. I'm behind GA 100%.

I'm all behind any mapping website, there is no need for pointless hatreds or anything, the more the merrier

I don't think they should have been down for so long. why couldn't the old site have been left up while they redesigned the new one? I'd almost forgot they existed.

Im not in for pointless hatreds either, I was just poking a bit of friendly fun at their changes
Taking it in a new direction can only be a good thing IMO, never really rated GA before...

Well, people don't visit one website a day so there's no 'competition' going on- this site hardly pioneered the idea of user news, I nicked a lot of stuff off Mapfinger anyway

Well Global Assault was up for like 30 mins, i managed to post a message on the forum saying something like "Woo", none of the links worked, then it went down again. I have many fond memories of GA, hope its back up again soon. Not that i'm just hanging round Snarkpit waiting for it to return cos this site is sweet! But its always good to have another large HL mapping site to advertise ones maps on (or in my case, 1 map.) Just a shame when i posted my first map on GA it went down for an update 2 weeks later and has yet to return.
