Well then. I went to my city's old town today and took some shots from
it. Partly to prove that it might have been the city Valve got its
inspiration for HL2 from.

Anyway, check out the images then. And behold the gloory of our country

Now, the small request would be... whoever knows how (i don't) to make
textures out of images (tileable ones) and possibly make them
HDRable, I'd be delighted if they could make a texture for the white
church (i am gonna make a DoD:Source map out of this... it just looks
so damn nice) you can see on the first two pictures. The same texture
can be used in other places aswell so...

It would be great if the texture was 1024x1024 so it would not tile so
much. And ofcourse the author(s) would be credited for their work

Also, if anybody cares to find a model for the top of the church you
can see, right now I made it out of brushes, but it doesn't look good
close-up (although it is not even meant for close-up...) and having it
even as a func_detail sucks. It just wastes the allowed brush amount
methinks... but still it sucks  And besides - a model can be also in
the skybox... (so it would be best if the model also included the white
block itself... that is beneath the brown-green roof)

Any questions? (Naturally I will put the name "snarkpit" in the credits... so don't even ask  )

Really great pics. Inspiring stuff - makes me want to map. Certainly does feel like C17 (without the gloom). It would be funny to superimpose a few combine soldiers, with a Strider and the Citadel in the background.

Hahaha, sweet

Just needs one of those big black combine wall/gate things where the street kind of disappears.

Holy s**t! The combine are "just" south
of here! Gotta get a MIT degree and a beard and glasses, not to forget
the red crowbar and H.E.V.-suit.

Seriously speaking. I didn't notice that citadel at first...

Ugh... you have to ruin all the pictures with the ruddy combine

Pvt.Scythe, I am from Tallinn, Estonia. This is the old city

Anyway, for those who this makes a feel to map, as I said - I AM already making a map out of it  A DoD: S map.

Oh, and... who guesses the picture from what position I made the next picture from Hammer, gets a cookie.
