Ok, me and and an irl mate are starting up a mod, Harry Potter.

At the moment we have a website being processed.

And its soon to be on moddb.

The main reason im posting is that we need a couple of people to help with it. At the moment we have no idependant texurers or modellers which we desperatly need. I supose it helps if you ahve read the books.

We need desperatley atm:

Models: Trees, modern cars, householdy items (tables chairs etc.), flower beds, doors. (One question as im here (Can models be doors?)).

Textures: Cant describe, iv'e got pictures though

Please contact me via msn (thebeeverman@hotmail.com) if you are interested AT ALL.

My aims down there some where aswell

Thanks all.
What do i put here again? :(

I really don't like Harry Potter, and suck at mapping, so I can't help.

But, doors are more often brushes textured with a door, and I assume
that works best. Plus, in de_tides there are a lot of flower
beds, so I'm assuming you could find something in there.

But can it be done? (Doors)

Also the flower beds in tides dont really suit our needes, we need some that would stick out of the grass + i think there are only 2.

Building a mod from a successful commercial franchise is asking for trouble. You can take the same concepts and themes and make them yours, but literally calling it a Harry Potter mod isn't the best idea. There's this little thing called a copywright. It can be a real bitch for mods.

Normally I would think this obvious advice, but considering the success rate of all the mods who historically have passed thorough these sacred halls I am inclined to think. "Go for it"

If they ever succeed, they can worry about infringement then.

The best things in life, aren't things.

You've certainly got a point, Orph...there are much greater hurdles to worry about before something like Copywright infrigement.

To come back to your question about recruitment places: it's not only about the place. It's also about how you recruit. Might be good to read up on some things about recruiting and mod management and the like if you really want to start big. <br style="font-family: Verdana;">
