i've never really been superstitious, but the thing about black cats crossing your path being a sign of good luck was pretty weird for me one day. i was going fishing with a mate, both of us on his gpz 650 (motorbike). just as we were about to turn off of the main road onto small windy road that ran up a steep wooded hill, i've noticed a black cat in the grass, looking like it's making a move to jump in front of us. Jim must have noticed it too, and slowed the bike a little. but the cat sat back down, so Jim opened it up again. that's when the cat decided it was going to move after all. a bit of rapid deceleration saved the cat, and probably held us up for 2 seconds.
anyway, the road that leads up the hill is one of those steep zig-zag shots, that only go for a hundred yards or so before looping back round. when we were part way up the hill, turning back onto a straight, a car full of idiots came hurtling around the bend at the other end of the straight like it was in some sort of kamikaze rally. it took most of the hundred yards for the car to get back in shape, and if it wasn't for the cat slowing us down just before this, i'm pretty sure that we'd have been right in its path.
strange indeed, though it didn't make me any more or any less superstitious.

I met a girl once named Mercedes. I got her number, and called her a few days later. Somehow, I misdialed the number, but.... the girl who answered the phone at the wrong number was also named Mercedes! As you can imagine, I was thoroughly confused when I started talking to her.

Last night I was watching Silent Hill and the receiver that is hooked up to that TV got too hot, or something, and nothing but hissing, static, and odd "frequency" noises came out.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I was in Bermuda until this afternoon, and while I was there I went on a Jetski tour around the island. Turns out the tour guide is a high school classmate of mine who I hadn't seen since graduation more than 3 years ago. It was a really random coincidence.
