There were about 20 players on my server yesterday which is not much but I only ran it in the evening and at night so thats probably normal.
The best ping someone had was 27 (btw I can join my own dedicated server on the same computer without slowing down the server)

EDIT:

By the way I got a couple of questions on running a dedicated server.

1. How can I edit the intro text box?
(you know where you see the rules/admins et cetera)
2. Theres an option window called "configure" but I cant edit it - why?
3. where do I have to copy the server.cfg? at Kampy/half-Life/vave/ or Kampy/dedicated server/valve ?

For the entrance text, it's a modt.txt file or something i think, atleast that's what it is for CS servers. or was... i can't remember, it's been like 4 years :biggrin:
