Well guys, about 8 weeks ago I started a new job. It was a bit strange after almost 9 years of delivering mostly school buses. I now drive a bright red 2005 Peter Built. Unfortunately, a rocker arm broke yesterday and stranded me in Flag. To bad really, the grand canyon is but a few dozen miles to the north but oh well, I've seen it twice already.
Otherwise, I'm doing fine. I have made wonderful progress on my new place. I have almost half of it fenced in and about 75% of it cleared for pasture. Not to shabby for one winter's worth of work on it.
Sooo, hows everything around the ol' Pit? Everything going smoothness with the new webmaster? I see... looks around pages Very little alterations.
I still have little or no options for broadband where I live BUT the assure me sometime 2008/2009 they will have DSL out that far.
/me supposes I need to come back here and light a small fire under those that be. :heee:
Needless to say, I miss you'all terribly, but on the other hand, I have made much progress PC wise. I finally finished all my games. I now know how HL1 and HL2 end. I have finished Doom 3 again and Quake 4 again. I also played the new UT, offline of course, but the singleplayer adventure for it was fun. Stalker by the way was most excellent. I saw so many DM maps contained within that adventure.
The time away from here gave me much incentive to finish every game I own.
Anywho's, I hope all is well, and I miss everyone mucho gobs.
Orph.

As a matter of fact, I called Nickel the other day. I needed assistance getting a new 500 gig HD to work. His advice was welcomed and it did help some. He taught me a couple things.
Ultimately it was a connection issue. I had my SATA connection plugged into my RAID and it wasn't quite working. I finally went to the library and downloaded a PDF of my mainboard and I noticed that underneath my wires was another connection identical in shape. I connected it there and bingo it worked.
Simple format and it was done.
My new hard drive also came with cloning software, and now my new SATA HD is my bootup hard drive. All is well.
I would also advise you to not open any doors you do not want open with regard to Joe. He doesn't lose... Ever.

Thanx Reaper. Tis a bit quiet in here. Even with me only being able to use this machine on a limited basis, I still have time to read many of the topics. However, some of the topics have a bit to much humdrum for a 15 minute session so I am only skimming through them. I am missing many of the high points I am sure. For all I know Gwil got married and Aaron lost his virginity somewhere and I totally overlooked it.
Gods I have been gone so long, many of you are actually typing like grownups now.
In a way it will be nice to have more adults in here. :heee: (as if I would know an example with my record for tantrums)
Seriously though, I have noticed many changes in content from our members.

Good to hear from you, Orph. I think most everyone still comes around every once in a while. Don't tell anyone, but I've actually started mapping again.

Thanx Cass. You know you're still one of my fav's. Someday when you reach adulthood, we really need to meet up.
I have actually been considering it myself. I would have to do it entirely offline but, I think I could get the basic structure outlined in spite of that small issue.
I took some fantastic screens while I was playing Stalker. There were some really great maps in that game. I bow deeply to those guys, whom ever they might be.

It is well worth it guys. I admit that it has a few tedium's like running clear across creation but otherwise its great.
My advice, find that great 5.56 sniper rifle. The 7.62 is kick ass too but has so little ammo. The 5.56 has gobs. Hmm, I wish I was at home I'd tell you which but I cannot recall.... Except, its NOT the British one. Thats a crappy rifle.
One thing I never did get ammo for was the gauss . Did anyone else get some ammo? Every rifle I found was empty.
Also, keep any item that increases your endurance. You'll need it for the jaunts across forever.
