due to the sensitive nature of this image, i cropped it and removed everything that shows its origin (to remove anything incriminating thus sparing SP)

It looks to me like you've got some invalid solids in there...but then again, I have no idea how the censored engine works...

ok, lets talk something legit.

U2 uses static meshes, this map does too, in its way.

the card refuses to see them, with this effect as the result.

i truly need this issue solved, especially since the damned thing was designed to run on ATI cards

my elcheapo 440se had no such compulsions.

thing is m8, if its not been supported before by ATI and its new drivers. you WILL get issues. tbh, If it really matters to you, go back to old stable drivers like cat 3.7 & backward, See if they sort it.

Newer drivers wont be supported tbh & they arnt exactly going to fix it if errors occur.

its not truly driver related, i cannot explain it, but an ati 9600 doesn't have this problem, i cannot say why, or from whom, but its a reliable source and i trust it.

its not ATI, and i cannot imagine it to be my 9000 card, since it uses the same drivers as the 9600.

i am almost tempted to go get a 5200 nVidia and wait till i can afford a 9600.

its not so much that its doing it, its the fact that i cannot solve it thats pissing me off so badly.

issues with cards occur all the time, but there should also, always be a solution.

So that stretched out wierd thing is suposed to be a s-mesh? you know, given that this my be an incomplete version of an unnamed editor it could simply be that there was a conflict with your card that was not resolved before the er... "release"

yes/no

there is one in the map (in fact several hundred) but you do not have to be looking at one to get the effect.

i think you all are right, /end of story.

damnit... all i can say is, you guys are in for a treat when this thing is available.

"Wow, Orph, where did you get those textures?"

ATI cards have always had a history of problems with OpenGL (renderer VHE and Hammer use). So, uh, I'm not really sure what you can do about it, other than getting another video card or looking for other drivers. Be advised that the newest driver isn't always the best one - to get VHE to work on my old ATI card, I had to download some weird prototype drivers.
