I had no idea about hiding/safehouses/whatever, and have promptly been killed three times whilst not logged in. Yay for me.

<div class="quote"><div class="quotetitle">? quoting MisterBister:</div><div class="quotetext">How many is in jensen boulevard police department, and how many is moving there?'

From what i can see, its only me there right now and a bunch of other people.

</div></div>

I'm there with my character Bill Waterson. Crono is there with
his character Annihilation. Nickelplate is there with his
character of the same name. And then there's you. So we
have 4 Snarkpitters total.

<div class="quote"><div class="quotetitle">? quoting Mephs:</div><div class="quotetext">I'm moving close to there. But only to eat your flesh. Any necrotech
bases in Lukinswood? Also, If I drop my axe in an area can it be picked
up by someone else?

</div></div>

Dropped items can't be picked up. I would just hold on to it in case you get revivified.

And my Firefighter just leveled again, yay! He's at level 6 now
after 10 days of playing... not too shabby. I've taken up
diagnosis and I think I'll be the badass axe-wielding zombie slaying
healer.

You should read the guides AtM posted a while back. They are indeed very helpful.
Nickelplate, read these guides: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Category:Guides

They are extremely helpful. I didn't know my ass from my elbow in this game before reading the wiki and now I feel like I have a gameplan.

The short of it is until you reach level 2 and get a chance to improve
your pistol skill, you're going to be hard pressed to hit
zombies. You'll probably have to stick with it for a week before
you level.

What the Snarkpitters listen to!

I made a small contact list for UD-tool which turns all snarkpitters names into red. To get UD-tool download it from here:

http://www.sl.ecwhost.com/ud/

And then simply paste this info into the contact list file:

"

#ff0000,snarkpit

Filip Coulianos,snarkpit

Bill Waterson,snarkpit

Nickelplate,snarkpit

MrLaserding,snarkpit

OtZman Two,snarkpit

Yak Fighter,snarkpit

Ncyphe,snarkpit

Annihilation,snarkpit

"

If i missed someone or accidentily added someone that isnt a
snarkpitter, please tell me. Would be nice if everyone kept posting
their urban dead profile.

True that's a pain. But on the other hand I like the simplicity
and self-reliance that comes with not having a trade option.
MisterBister that tool and the file you've created are pretty
useful! I like being able to click on the suburb name and have
the map come up, and I find this bold colorizer of fellow Pitters to be
very cool.

I only wish the tool included a way to reorganize the inventory.

Here's a shot of the tool in action in case anyone is interested:

As you can see, I've got enough ammunition to go on a run, but
currently don't have the AP. I'll be ready to set out again at

My character will probably disappear before I get a chance to log in again. I'm getting pretty busy. Not that my character has ANY stats really. I do have like four axes though ... I didn't notice until last time I logged in.

Well -- the second you log in you'll come back. Disappearing
doesn't really have any effect other than uncluttering the game world.

  • a pistol (with one bullet)
  • a pistol
  • a pistol clip
  • a pistol clip
  • a pistol clip
  • a flaregun
  • a flaregun
  • a shotgun shell
  • a shotgun shell
  • a shotgun shell
  • a shotgun shell
  • a shotgun shell
this only took my like 30 AP, too. I was so amazed.

The coordinate finding system sucks, it always gives me a "too many values" error or something as such.

The link to the outer map has been linked here, in this thread, about three times, I think. You may need to go to the outer "view" to see the sections of malton, becfore you go into the suburbs.

Just remember: straight lines are the shortest distance. So, if you can go diagonally, do so. It only took me 13 points to travel from Where I was to the PD, and I was four or five towns away.

This game is becoming pretty dang cool. After tomorrow, we need to pick a dat about 3 days away and not do ANYTHING until that day, so that we ALL have the same amount of points. then we can do our stuff and start our conquest... if there is like 15 of us we can start killing off ppl in the station and start taking over from there. Yeah?

I don't think we should kill other survivors. People tend to get
really pissed off and there are resources where you can post pictures
of your attacker and they get put on PK list and you end up getting
hunted down by high level players who are bored with killing zombies
and bounty hunt exclusively.

I say we just chill at the PD with everyone else. If we want our
own building we can take over one of the towers/regular buildings
nearby.

Well i dont agree on the killing part, but waiting three day until everyone has 50 AP and then make our move sounds good to me.

I propose we choose a new area to be our base. I just spent a
turn running around the general area and only managed to come across 2
zombies (killed both and leveled)... but the rest of the areas were
deserted. I say we attempt to move to Havercroft:
http://www.jonathanfletcher.f2s.com/urbandead/mapping.php?suburb=44

It's right next to Riddleybank (which is a warzone I hear) and there's
a group of firestations/policestations/1 hopsital right in the middle
of Havercroft we could try to secure. I'm sure there are zombies
roaming all over there.

I checked the area and it seemed to be pretty clear, however, as you
said two areas to the west theres a bloody warzone. Because of this, i
think there are quite many in the proximity of Havercroft aswell.
Barville seemes to have quite many zombies aswell.. However those
preports are a few days old.

The zombietracker is a very handy tool i think  :

I need to level my shotgun first before I do construction. But,
there should be others in those police stations who can barricade for
us.

I'm in South Blytheville, so Havercroft is just three suburbs North and
one suburb East from me. I can sit around for a few days and just
collect APs and then start moving over there. Doesn't look like there
are any zombie infested areas to avoid on the way there.

Ive moved to Moseley Plaza Police Dept in havercroft, everything seemes
clear. I noticed that firestations and the police Dept im in right now
is barricaded.

There is lots of people here aswell. Judging by the zombietracker,
havercroft is as empty as it could be. Almost no zombies present.

Ill wait here for further instructions, over and out.

I've made it into Havercroft as well. I'm currently in the
Woollacot BLVD Fire Station (2 blocks west of the Ackland Mall).
Definitely seems to be more zombie activity here. I killed 2 (or 3?)
zombies and wounded 2 others before running out of APs. I leveled
twice. Up to level 6 now.

I've maxed my firearm skills, and I managed to get Construction as well
so I can serve as the Snarkpitter barricader. I think I'm going
to try to get bargain shopping so I can take advantage of the nearby
Mall. Next turn I'll have to head to the Spurdwell PD to find
more ammo. I'm all out.

You don't lose items but you can't use them as a zombie. So you
keep them but they are useless until you're revived. The only way
you lose XP is if you get Headshotted as a zombie. You lose 10 XP
per level above the first.

You never lose skills, some just become inactive because you can't use
them as a particular class (ie construction as a zombie) or (infectious
bite as a survivor). The skills and items that carry over as a
zombie are body building and the flak jacket.

Another wonderful extension for firefox:

Urban Dead Graphics and Inventory Enhancer

Screenshots:
(1),(2),(3)

Forum post with more information

To install it simply download it and drag and drop it into the
extension window, then restart FF. Then change settings for the
extension through Tools>GAIE Tool.

Seems like you can hold a maximum of 51 items, counting all weapons as
two. If you have 50 items with one slot remaining you will still be
able to find weapons though, it seems.

I started a new character today... Jacque de la Morte (yay timesplitters).

He's a zombie prowling around. I used up all my APs attacking
this guy and ended up taking him to 3 hp  I only have 26 XP and
I'm pretty sure I'll die before my next turn.

I figure this game needs more zombies for people to play against, so I don't mind doing my part.

At the moment, I'm still in Spurdell Walk Police Dept in Havercroft.
I'm just sitting there gaining APs and then spending them searching for
ammo and stuff.

Okay, I just started heading west towards Nichols Mall - BAD IDEA. Full
of 60+ zombies. Ran away, hope they aren't tracking me. Are there any safe malls around the eastern center of the city?

I found a cell phone. It says in the wiki that these will enable long
distance communication when the city power is restored. The only power
station in the city seems to be located at Pickford Park
[99, 87] and Knill Towers
[99, 88] according to the World View map.

Wonder if the power can be restored there...
