T'was the night before christmas and all throught the 'pit,
not a user was stirring, even tracer_bullet;
The snarksnow was falling from the tops of our screens,
St. Leperous had updated the server machines!!!

The newbies were nestled all snug in thier beds
while visions of killboxes danced in thier heads
and ReNo in Scotland, and I in US,
Had just started up for VALVe's mapping contest,

When up on the forum there rose such a post,
It was from '99: it was back like a ghost!
a newbie resurrected it, being a dick.
and Gwil put an end to that thread pretty quick!

the posting on the forums had lately been slow
Cause users were out on vacation, you know,
I pushed the refresh and when I turned around,
t'was "General Banter", with Snarks falling down!

With a nice freindly Admin, full of knowledge and pep,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Lep.
More rapid than eagles the regulars came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, ReNo! now, Orpheus! now, Cassius and Mephs!
On, Andrei! on Ballblue! on, Crono and scary_jeff!
To the General Banter! to the forum of maps!"
and they all left editing tips, tutorials and crap.

And he gave us all profiles and SnarkMarks and things
And away Lep'rous flew like a snarkling with wings.
But I read his new thread, ere he logged out of site,
"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

I love it, but change it from happy christmas to merry christmas, and fix the last line of the third stanza; "an and that that"

Heard about this all the way from MSN. Wouldn't be surprised if its not circling the globe as we speak.

Good job, for a Missourian that is.

Seemed fitting. Many had Christmassy Avatar's for the occasion so I altered mine this morning. Not that great with editing images but it serves.

I was giggling while I edited out the drip.

[edit] This might belong better in a poem thread instead.

Christmas and Snarkpit, one thing we can share,
Tis friendships and feelings, all kinds to beware,
Christmas the time, for oldtimers and new,
To gain some respect, for those before you.

Snarkpit and Christmas, a time to forgive,
Snarkpit's the place, we all would have lived,
If only the time, we all would have stayed,
more to the point, we stay anyway.

A tribute to old, or a tribute to new,
we all should be thankful, for Lep and his crew,
If Snarkpit should falter, or begin to grow old,
lets all hope we can, continue to hold.

Snarkpit remains, for all but a few,
lets all just have hope, we gain some anew,
Lets all give thanks, to those who have made,
Snarkpits the place, we all came and played.

Merry Christmas fellas.
