This will probably bring my topic creation to like...5 over the course of probably as many years.

Anyway, I recently got a tattoo and it's finally fully healed. I was curious as to other members' completed, planned or just plain curiosities in regards to tattoos.

Yes, it's a gaming tattoo, bonus points for knowing where it's from and maybe even a tasty cookie to those who 'get' the positioning of the tattoo and its elements.

It's the fight arrangement in Final Fantasy for the NES. It appears the thief is dead, the white mage is ... casting? idle?, the warrior is attacking and the black mage is chilling. Kupo.

It's been awhile since I played so forgive my incorrect response and my reference to future FF games.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I'm wondering what a tattoo of about this complexity would cost?

Outside edge of my left calf. So they're facing forward, and it leaves open the option to put a boss or monster on my other calf.

It is bad enough that you got a video game tattoo, but somehow you made it worse by selecting the s**ttiest franchise ever and put it on a huge and obvious place on your body. Congrats.

I'm not really keen on tattoos personally, and I certainly wouldn't get one, but I think that is pretty badass Gorb  You got balls going through with it in such a prominent place! Loving the attention to detail and pixelation of the image, very authentic

I was gonna get a CS tattoo when I turned 18, then I realized how retarded that idea was, so I didn't.

I haven't ruled out getting inked in the future, but I'll follow the advice of a friend: put the chosen design in an envelope and date it one year in the future, put the idea out of your mind. When the day on the envelope rolls around open it and see if it still seems like a good idea. One year isn't that long given the tattoo will be with you for the rest of your life. If you forget about the envelope you didn't want a tattoo that bad.

I'd want any tattoo I got to be meaningful, like chinese characters or a tribal design.

I agree with Reno and hl_world, You've definitely got cojones.

If i was ever to get a tattoo, which I most likely will at some point, it would be the young/danish futhark in a ring around my arm.

Wise advice but chinese characters seem cliched to me.

I find those kinds to be the least meaningful. And so far in the few months that I've had it, I've yet to have negative comments. Even the "hardcore" tattooed people who have seen it loved it for the linework, or even revealed that they knew what it was from or appreciated the background of it.

"Wise advice but chinese characters seem cliched to me."

I think he was being sarcastic.

Maybe you were too, but I couldn't tell.
