975, 157, 30 looks like a coordinate, not a brush number. Just navigate towards that coordinate and look for a brush there.

Press [Alt] + [P] and see if there are any invalid brush, empty solid or any other entity errors that might relate to this error and fix them. You might have to click on the error, click on go to, than close the problems window and press delete which will delete the problem brush.

Also post your compile log just in case there is anything else we should know about.

This error is always caused by vertex manipulation. A plane is defined by 3 unique coordinates. If any of the three coordinates are the same, then you don't really have a plane (its either a line or a point). There is no way to fix this error other than to delete the brush and recreate it completely.

This is most commonly caused by dragging a vertex ontop of another to destroy it for several vertexes of the same face. The resulting brush can even look correct, but the side which you have destroyed can still have a point or two defined for it. The proper way to remove a face is to use a clipper. If the object is simple (say converting a square to a wedge), then dragging an edge via the yellow control points to merge multiple vertexes at once will probably be safe.
There you are, you must have been doing some vertex manipulation and one of the brushes are incorrect.

Tommy says that the error should look something like this:

Entity 10, Brush 0, Side 4: plane with no normal
Entity 10, Brush 0, Side 5: plane with no normal

As Baron Von Snickers suggested, you need to press [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [G] and a window will open. You either need to enter in the brush number if its a brush, or the entity number is its an entity (check the compile log, it will say) than just go to that entity when all the information is in.

If you are having trouble finding the problem brush, feel free to email the map to me (aarondakilla@gmail.com) at any time and I'll send you back a screen shot of the problem brush and I can even send you back the map with the brush fixed.

Also, add this website to your favorites/bookmarked websites because this is a helpful guide when dealing with half-life errors.

Captain P didn't give a wrong answer, so I reset it. Maybe it didn't help you, as you don't know how to navigate to a given set of co-ordinates, but that doesn't make him wrong.

Then you say thanks to Baron, who gave you instructions to find a brush number, when you wanted to find co-ordinates.

Then aaron gave you a full explaination, albeit in response to an error that could be nothing to do with the original post, and you ignore him.

Ah well, up is down, down is up, and who am I to question what happens on the interweb.....
