This is a screeny from ATI's Gargoyle screensaver. This is the interactive program where you can fly around and zoom in and out of the gargoyle. Behind the gargoyle is an ornate clock which shows your system clock's time. In the actual screensaver the camera roams around the room.

This here's a screenshot of the gargoyle's face. The eyes pulse from dark red to a bright blood color

To use this screensaver you need to have a Radeon 9600 or higher and DirectX 9.0 installed, because of all the rendery stuff :O

here's a download link for the Gargoyle clock and other cool screensavers from ATI - http://www.ati.com/developer/screensavers.html

EDIT I had to lower the quality level of the jpg to bring it from just over 1 mb to an acceptable 230 kb

The render isnt that spectacular. Really I think parts of it look rather ugly (the gargoyle's skin/texture, for example), but the real achievement is that its run in real time.

I think any screensaver which is interactive has been improperly labeled somewhere along the line.

I still think the Matrix screensaver is the best ever.

It was just one of those universal geek moments, sitting in that theatre: "that would make such a kick ass screensaver!".

Well some of us have their monitors turn off to save electricity, and run a cancer 'curing' program as their 'screensaver' (and in the background, usually)

Oh wait, what did the United States or France's actions in Gulf War 2 have anything to do with this? Oh wait, nothing. Oh wait.

Lighten up, it was a joke.

ahh... especialy given that the remark came from Gwil, I believe he speaks more to french history. WW1 and 2 ring any bells? the french have been the laughing stock of militray historians for a very long time. the Iraq crap just made it popular.

cash, the screensaver itself isnt interactive, it just comes with an interactive program.

the point is, the screensaver is rendered in real time and its cool ... and this thread is teh coolz0r until you started talking about the war

Actually, I think I like using an obnoxiously large, gold font, so I will respond to King Jinx using it:

STFU.
