You can already get into editing for Halo PC if you use 3DS Max or Maya, or some other, higher quality modelling program. You just wont be able to place any entites until the actual, gearbox editor comes out.

I'd give it a shot if I had Halo, and if the editor was Gearcraft or some such Worldcraft-variant... certainly thinking about having a mapping section for it here though

Ya well just to warn everyone, Halo is a beast (quote from somewhere I just cant remember). Dont be fooled by the system requirements, this is really what Halo needs to be played: 2.4 processor, 1 gig ram, at least a 9700 pro. It has happened to many, dont let it happed to you.

I wouldn't call it a beast. "s**tly built" sums it up better

I actually managed to run it just fine on my trusty 'ole 1.5 ghz, 256 k of PC133 ramalamadingdong (and a GeForce4 TI 4400 vid card).
Seemed to run fine enough...

Mine ran fine too except for the indoors sections, then it became unplayable. I didn't like the game anyway, far too consoley.

The demo worked on my comp, which has a GeForce2Go. It just required making the game look like crap, but it ran at about the same speeds as the XboX.
And when I mean it looked like crap, it looked like all the model skins were replaced by a solid color, there were no reflections, no dynamic lighting, ran in 600x400...

At least it was consistent for you Yak. Looked like crap, played crap, and I can assure you, it tastes like crap too.

Aww... I'm sorry A_S. You've won me back with your develish charm... Your <3 melted mine  . Consider me "not dwelling on it" anymore. Well, to be honest, I still am, but that's only because the midgets in my brain refuse to let me forget anything except for how to control the left side of my body at times. Damn brain midgets.

Umm, I must say... Halo runs completely fine in 800x600, details on medium, on my comp, Ive got a Athlon 1700+, 512 MB RAM and a GeForce 3 Ti 200. And I was still running programs like winamp, MSN, ICQ and mIRC in the background...

mapping for halo with a worldcraft variant would be nice.
it would make a change from hex editing the current map files to make things like the shotgun fire rockets.
the game also runs fine on 800x600 for me too with a 1.2 256ddr and a 64mb gforce4 variant from msi
