This is a a discussion topic for the map "fy_bullet" by MenZa which can be found here

Map description:

This map is a tiny map for people who can respond fast.
A round rarely lasts more than twenty seconds.
I haven't used env_cubemap, as I don't know how to use it and I'm too lazy to search any tutorials ;)

Please download this map as it is my first ever released map for CS: Source.

You really ought to light the map, MenZa. The map would be fun for a LAN due to its really small size. But, I wouldn't play it otherwise...

And you really should add some cubemaps... if you don't know how to, then place them around the map at the player's height (the height of a info_player_start). Then when you've compiled the map, type 'buildcubemaps' in the console. Et voila. Cubemaps.

Why is it that when I make a small map for gameplay and not looks everyone bashes me. No one ever gives me a good comment like "I like the idea of..." Now this here is worse looking then my map and no one has said it sucks yet. From what I experinced, I am going to give you a 6.

This 6 is because I know you spent time making this map, and I'm sure its fun to play (havent downloaded it yet). But you could make the lighting a bit better. Try making it a little less bright.

No offence, but that's because your map looks much uglier than this one does (played both of em so i'm not talking about the screenshots).

And yes, I have to agree that this map looks as if someone forgot to run vrad.

Please never post your first map. It's even worse if it's a FY. It's even worse if it isn't lit. And it's even worse if it looks downright ugly.

Don't ever post first maps, and especially don't post it on the front page of Snarkpit.

There's nothing wrong with posting first maps. Everyone starts somewhere, and making that first map is a HUGE step - one that we all had to take.

That said, you should expect honest reactions to your creation - not all will be good. Develop thick skin.

Now - take what you have done, compare it to professional quality maps. You have the abiltiy to get from 'map 1', to professional quality - it just takes time and practice.

"This map is a tiny map for people who can respond fast."
I can respond fast to people posting bad maps on the first page.

"A round rarely lasts more than twenty seconds."
It would take twenty seconds to throw in a light_enviroment and do a full compile

"I haven't used env_cubemap, as I don't know how to use it and I'm too lazy to search any tutorials ;)"
RTFM YOU LAZY BUM .. oh nevermind you made a ";)" smiley. that justifies everything and makes you a funny guy. Your funny!

"Please download this map as it is my first ever released map for CS: Source."
Dont make it your last. Go read some tutorials, check out the SDK maps. Experiment with enteties.....

But first. Read the manual. it explains cubemaps .. and www.google.com is a great site for tutorials. trust me. You can find anything there

I've looked through your comments and I'm going to release a v2 with a light_environment (I have added cubemaps.. they're just a bit silly looking, not enough of 'em)
