Is there a way to make this thing less buggy feeling? I mean, most of the comments arrive on your wall it seems in bits and pieces and nothing really makes sense. Now it could be that people are posting that way I dunno. Maybe they are answering a question later, that they were asked in person and waited till they were online.. I dunno.

The forking chat blows ass chunks too.

Facebook is systematically "updated" (broken) ever few weeks. Soon there'll be nothing left.

(I don't use FB, never have, prolly wont anytime soon). Thats funny because I have a buddy of a buddy who works at FB. He says they seek out stanford grads to work on their site, and the interview process is very rigorous, they don't let every joe shmo in. I guess FB's standards for programmers is very low because it breaks constantly.

It's probably just a clever way to distract you while they distribute your personal information all over the internet.

Not only that but the IQ level average is exceedingly low. I feel like a veritable Einstein there. I am not easily embarrassed and I get that way almost daily by the shear dumbness of some of the replies. I won't even mention the steering wheel conversation.. ;)

I used to have a hi5 profile and to be honest the community, and the fact that skype exists, is what made me leave - everyone seemed to be a hipster 14 year old trying to act like they matter by collecting as many 'friends' and fives as possible.
From what I hear, facebook is even worse as it's more popular. I'll be damned if i'm going to find out myself though.

You didn't consider the possibility the car had no steering wheel. :gringo:

Don't forget Orph for many Facebook is a very casual place and a lot of people that don't normally communicate via written form often use it.

Anyway, I think complaining about Facebook is quite silly, considering that the complaints are usually about the user base and not the product itself. If somebody has a Facebook account and they're unhappy with it due to other people maybe they should review their friends list?

Its not that really. I only brought up the steering wheel because you are here and would have some clue as to what I was joking about. I mean other stuff. I actually had to ask my cousin to un-invite me. I just couldn't deal with the stuff she was posting. I mean, she is 26 and writes stuff a 13 year old would post. I don't expect you to believe, or want to know but I can post a link to her page and let you judge if you have a notion to.

Anyway, That's not really the route I wanted to go but I couldn't deal any longer.

In many spots/posts the conversation seems cool. But in others people are posting things they really shouldn't. Its like there is no etiquette standards at all.

My biggest issue right now is some posts begin right in the middle someplace. There is no way to know what is going on. How do people communicate that way? And, if I am NOT SUPPOSED to know (for privacy) why the hell is it on my wall?

I dunno if people realize this or not but everything shows up eventually on your friends walls even if you are not sending it that way.

(For privacy I won't mention names here)

A friend of mine said I post to much on HIS WALL. Its not polite. I need to send a PM... OK. I don't post on his wall. I comment on what was on my wall. How am I supposed to know what not to comment on?????

Exactly! That's the kind of garbage that put me off hi5.

Social networking sites may be fun, but if all you want is to keep touch with friends, use skype or yim, as untrendy as it may sound.

Not to mention that I griped (along with several others I have talked to in FB) that the chat really sux. It hangs up every single time I try to use it.

Not to mention that I still cannot figure out why the comments almost always start in the middle (or not at the beginning) of every topic posted. Is there some whacky filter or is the whole freakin world typing that way online?

Don't get me wrong, some of the posts flow normally but it seems way to frequent that topics just start. Sometimes as little as 3 or 4 words. I do however realize that they are not talking TO ME so maybe its only that I am out of the loop. I dunno.

Facebook is like automobiles. It was invented by incredibly talented people, and it was a very smart idea to make people connect faster. Eventually, illiterate, uneducated, rude, self-obsessed people use it as a means of showing off how 'cool' they are (thankfully I haven't heard of any Facebook related deaths thus far).

..And that's my quarterly SnarkPit post. Now back to books......

I was thinkin along similar lines myself. It is nice to know that people are still out there somewhere though. I have often wondered if they are dead or alive. I have told my son's (which they have prolly forgotten) that if I died out here driving or whatever, they are supposed to make one last post telling you guys. At least you can throw a party or something.
