I tried sending a PM yesterday and it still shows my messages in the outbox. (Eventually one sent but there are two others that have still not sent) Any ideas why they're not sending? (The usernames are correct) Thanks.

Yeah, the private messages only use email terminology, they don't actually function like one. The information is all stored in a database, so the only difference between it waiting to leave and it being sent is if the recipient has actually read it.
It might make sense in the future to change the terms so it's more clear ...

The PM system used to have a prominent place where you couldn't help but see that you have messages waiting on you. Now, its easy to over look it.

It's about as noticeable as the old notice. significantly larger red bold letters do the job pretty well.
I used to not notice the red bar that would show up sometimes, because it blended into the site too easily (everything was horizontal). But I've never missed this one.
