Wahey, getting the hang of this wacom thing a bit now - it seems to have improved my painting and drawing skills being able to work in colour so easily. It's still not great, but here it is (WIP!)

Very nice Gwill! You've really hit on the power of digital painting. It's so easy to work with color. You can grasp the foundations of tone and hue much easier, in this medium.

The values on the guy in the gray suit are working well, in defining him. You seem to lose the form a little in the other guy. His colors seem a little confused..maybe simplify the color division into 3 or 4 values, and dont worry about the shading/detailing, until after the basic body shapes are well defined. Keep posting pics, as you play around...I'm looking forward to seeing more progression.

the very fact that so much can be seen, or imagined speaks mounds for the picture.

in all practicality, it could be two fire fighters at a building disaster

Thanks for all the feedback so far, like I say it is work in progress so there are improvements to be made

Orph: thanks, its the first ive tried working anywhere near "properly" in colour, its supposed to feel like it was done in inks

biohazard suit people: definition will come  belts, sheaths etc

Finger: my thoghts exactly... im gonna redo the guy in brown today, give him a complete overhaul and layer the "paint" up properly this time...

I supose I should have mentioned that I actualy do like it very much, though it feels odd to me to have so much empty space off to their right.

yeah, thats a moot point atm  ive repainted the brown figure to a white outfit, and added some VAGUE detail to the scene on the right.. the composition was a problem from the start tbh, something to think about next time i start out painting...

I hate to tell you, but the more detail you put in the clouds, the less like clouds they look like... if they weren't so blue I'd think them a mountainside.

The rest of it seems nice, but since it's far from my style I don't really have pointers to give. There are, however, discrepancies with the lightsource in a lot of places.

When I look at it closer, the legs on both of them are really short in comparison to the rest of 'em.

aye, the more you look the discrepancies there are... the legs were difficult to represent accurately in terms of scale due to the trousers I gave them to wear...

i'll add it to my list of pointers to pick up on..
