ASCII=American Standard Codes for Information Interchange
Basically a method of representing characters by numbers. Though it has nothing to do with this, ASCII art basically means making artsy-looking stuff with ASCII characters (All the characters you see on your standard keyboard)
View the source goddamnit. You'll see what I mean.

Copy and paste into notepad, then turn word wrap off.
I hope the fact that they have time to waste on this means they have finished making the game...

The Inquirer today is saying that somebody in ATI heard from somebody else in ATI that Gabe said to him that HL2 will be out in August. But who knows.
Forceflow - irrespective of how the ASCII stuff is made, somebody making a secret website area and content for it is not working on the game.

Yeah, I guess HL2.net members will need good PR to make them buy the game

I don't think either one (HL2 or Doom3) wants to release before the other since whichever comes out on top after 6 months will probably dominate for a long time afterwards.

Amazon has had about a million release dates for HL2, including some time in 1969.
