GTA:SA didn't look that great to me. It looked very much like they had hd to try very hard to get any visual improvement in the game to run on the PS2, since VC was already one of the (or maybe just the) most demanding games for the PS2. Of course it will be a proper PC port, unlike GTA3, but I can't see them making it look any better than VC does, and the gameplay additions seem to amount to 'you can ride a BMX'...

I still don't understand why people would steal a game before it's done.

You sir, are a savage of the highest order! GTA San Andreas is going to
rock so hard, on so many different levels it's going to
completely destroy all concepts before of what can rock so hard.

Or something.

And yeah, you can get fat.

ACE!

waits for the outrage over African-American gangstas being the violent ones in the game, a la Haitans in Vice City... :

I hope this game does not have some crap hip-hop soundtrack to be honest. I think one of the coolest things about GTA is how you have a lot of freedom to do what you want; apparent SA is going to be the largest city yet, and as long as there are loads of sub-adventures and the like it should be a fantastic game.

We are all in luck. There will be about 14 different radio stations with everything from hard rock/ hip hop/ talk radio/ soft rock/ love music/ country/ older rock from the 60's 70' and 80' along with all the new age stuff/ alternative/ club/ and more.

Now do I buy it for the PS2 when it's released...and then buy it again when it's out on PC (I preferred playing VC on the PC), or do I try and wait until the PC release?!

It'll be torture every time I walk into a games shop if I do.

edit: Oh, and naughty pirates! That film with Mr. Depp in it has got a lot to answer for.

what about the occasional opportunist like myself??

funny, i may acquire any game i can get my hands on, but stealing one prior to its release does not sit well with me.. yeah i got the stolen HL2, but i haven't done anything but look at it occasionally.. i have not played it so to speak.. in other words, it sits on my HD not posing any threat to the rightful owner.. this game here though, sounds a bit more completed, and hence could cost the owner dearly

if you can map for HL1, you can map for HL2.. the learning curve is not to steep..

we will all have to rethink a few things, but it will work fine.

There's a decent article here, with some additional information:

http://www.megagames.com/news/html/previews/grandtheftautosanandreas.shtml

Apparently, you'll get faster at reloading and gain accuracy the more you use your weapons.

I am suprised at how many leeps and bounds HL2 is creating. This could literally be considered a new age in gaming.
