Something was said in a thread a week or two ago in a thread about people who frequent the Snarkpit (from the UK) meeting up - and it made me wonder....why haven't we?
Has anyone ever met up? Did they scare the be-jeezuz out of you cos they were nothing like their online persona? Or were they exactly like their online persona (minus the smilies  , and silly words like l337 and 'teh')?

I have never ever said 'teh' or 'lol' in conversation, and the idea of meeting up somewhat scares me after that picture thread

Most folks from the UK seem to be in England, except for a few (myself, a guy called Dolly from ages back, and Peter Manson are all scottish). I guess some of the Americans find it wierd since we are all close, but to me travelling to England is a long way.
I live with 4 other computery folks, and w00t and "...xor" seem to come up in conversation a lot these days...purely for jesting purposes mind. I certainly wouldn't try and chat up a lady using such terms!

I actually cannot tell if thats irony or honest to god ignorance. I would somehow suspect irony from Orph though.
Anyway, in my experience you need a bigger crowd than this for meets, since there are so many constraints and difficulties involved in getting a meet working though.

My head already hurts
I should get back to mapping for a bit, 3DSMax is softening me up, I spent my first few months in that trying not to make things intersect  God help we when I get back to Hammer.
