On one map that I made one or two of the people would randomly die at spawn, and I could never figure out the reason, just thinking back I would like to know. Anyone have any ideas on this? The map was for CS. Thanks.

In Science and Industry (another mod), there were several maps that
didn't have enough spawnpoints. If someone needed to spawn and
there wasn't an open spot, a random person would die to make
room. If you ever spawn and see gibs flying, you probably just
killed someone. Think telefragging in Halo.

Also, sometimes that person would end up spawning at an enemy's spawn point instead. Hilarity would ensue!

I had this error before. You prodably must change length between spawn points. It can't be too near.

Maybe the people are spawning on top of each other thus killing the person on the bottom. Maybe you need more spawn points.

Make sure you have heaps of spawn points, around 15 for each team (maybe you don't need that many, but it's better to have too many than not enough), and make sure they're spread apart, around 128 units between each one is good.

Max players in HL (and all mods) is 32. Hence, I try to give 32 spawnpoints per team.

How are there still answers coming in? Surely its telefragging, so more spawn points, spaced out?

Wil5on, don't you mean 16 per team? I don't think all 32 players are going to join the same team!!!

I mean 32 per team. Of course not all players are going to join the same team, but in the event that they do for some reason, there wont be telefragging. I dunno, I just like the confidence that a completely telefrag-proof map gives.

concmap_2 is great for it at the start.

it's only got 1 teamspawn, so i tend to wait a bit for someone else to spawn, and then spawn right after them for a cheap teamfrag.

tfc = teh fun

other ways of lessening the telefragging could be to place the spawnpoints a little higher from the ground so the player falls out of the way, or put a trigger push on them so he gets pushed out of the way.
