a program that does THIS!!! but is not stolen and free..

locking this topic doesn't alter the fact that i STILL NEED IT

there that should sooth the software police.

if someone could help me understand how to do this i'd appreciate it..

there are free versions guys, but they are a bit above my grasp, if anyone has used one, gimme a yell, not PM, right here..

seriously tho, and cough sorry gimp, virtual-dub, altho free is for another use, yeah i got it, use it all the time too, but its purpose if vastly different.

thanx anyways

Don't call me an asshole, even if I did misinterpret your original post (seeing as I had you down as someone who does tend to distribute dodgy software on the internet anyway...)

i am not upset it got locked, i am upset that i it had to be locked cause i asked it wrong.

now go back to work, you are busy, i need that review page sometime, and if you are busy here fixing my screw-ups, then you are not doing what really needs done

OK, i did some study of my own and, came up with THIS

seems to be simple enuff and is free, but it works with only 400 megs files or less.. now the problem is it only works with Mpeg files, and all my stuff is in either AVi format, or as with virtual-dub, it only creates AVI files

does anyone know of a program like virtual dub, that will convert avi to mpeg, and be as simple?

i never understood why people make things complex on purpose, avi is the most common format, why would they stick to only mpeg

anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to a site that has tuts on how to write the vcd's and it has links to the programs that you will need

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/convert

and I think the program you will nede to convert it is TMPGEnc.

I also think that you will need virtual-dub as well

jeffery, i found out today (yeah i am SLOW) that VCD is the same as MPEG, so if you have any mpeg movies, or tv shows, and your DVD player is VCD compliant, you can play them as is on the tv set..

if not, see if you can reprogram your player like i did..
